Plymouthy Adams Posted January 20, 2018 Report Share Posted January 20, 2018 most folks will upgrade the rear axle at the same time...why not...better ratio, modern u-joints and components when making up your driveshaft and the all important floating brakes or discs instead of the fixed centric ones that is stock..win win win.... Plymouthy Adams Posted January 20, 2018 Report Share Posted January 20, 2018 if you have changed the rear gear, are you saying you did not upgrade the axle itself but changed instead the hog head? Without backing plates equipped with e-brake mechanism, you may next have to look at a pinion mounted disc for the e-brake If you changed to modern axle it should be equipped with e-brake and you just simply hook it up...simple task, have done a many Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Plymouthy Adams Posted January 20, 2018 Report Share Posted January 20, 2018 some of the later housing are more apt to be suitable for mod for the pinion, what with snubber platform built in.. I cannot off the top of my head recall if this particular hog head has mounting features built in as I do not consider the restrictions that is the centric braking system a feature I wish to hold onto so I chunk these axles, so you still may be in the wind.
