ThriftyT
Got a buddy building a vintage 1 seater speedster. Wants to power with a 23” flat 6. My question is, are there any top loader trans that fit the Plymouth based block? I believe it came out of a 50s dodge box truck of some sort. belvedere666
Could be wrong but I think the trucks came with a 218 attached to a top loader. Soon assume it would work. Check out vintage power wagons. They may have something that will work.
dpollo
any passenger car trans from 36 to 38 and some 39s are top loaders but you need the bell housing too. These will fit onto the 50s blocks. They are very sturdy transmission.
greg g
Truck bell housings are bolted through the frame rails. Truck 4 speeds typically have a pull your house off its foundation low gear. With a single seater doubt he won't even need second just use 3rd and 4 th. Is his project on the hamb?
