p24-1953
Does anyone know what the quarts/min or gph flow of our mechanical fuel pumps are? I am wanting to confirm my electric pump is sufficient and it hard to compare 15pumps with about 6 oz. To anything published.
greg g
My service manual states that 12 pulses of the stock mechanical pump should supply 8 to 10 ounces of gas.
p24-1953
Greg, what do you have ? My 53 manual says 15/6 but i don't know how that relates to gph.
Merle Coggins
GPH would be totally dependent on engine RPM. A pump is typically rated by it's displacement. For a rotary pump it would be something like cc/rev. A piston, or diaphragm pump, like the fuel pump, would be rated for oz/stroke, or cc/stroke. greg g
Its in the fuel section in the discussion of testing the fuel pump. I may have misremembered by an ounce give or take.
