Ward Duffield
Hi Group I just received a rebuilt double-action fuel pump for my P-15 I have no schematic or images to show how it is plumbed into the wipers and top lift system. Can anyone provide some assistance? Thank you in advance. Ward Duffield P-15 convertible 11586800 Pine Plains, NY
wldavis3
Ward, I looked in my service manual that covers the P-15, and it states that the convertible top is an electric/hydraulic system and doesn't say anything about any vacuum used to raise or lower the top. I can send you the schematic I have that shows the electrical wiring for the top mechanism. As to the double action fuel pump, the book just states that the wiper motor is connected to the vacuum port on the fuel pump and nothing else. There is no vacuum schematic. Sorry. The manual also states that only the P-17, P-18, P-19 & P-20 cars used the fuel pump with vacuum booster and it is supplied as special equipment, whatever that means. greg g
Several threads have been entered on the care and feeding of the P15 vacuum powered top actuators. Maybe some later ones got electric power but manifold vacuum served as power on many.
