Jj1981
So I live in South Carolina isn't rare to be wearing shorts at Christmas. Was looking at simplifying my b2b. If I'm not worried about running the heat can I cap off the hoses and remove the big box under the dash. Ithanks

Reg Evans
My 35 Dodge and 39 Chrysler never did have heaters.
dpollo
Heaters were all dealer installed options up to the mid 50s. In fact, some cars did not have the necessary holes drilled and tapped on the engines.
NiftyFifty
Rather then cap, I just ran the rear heater feed line right to the pump, that way I wasn't worried about trying to make a leak proof stop in the system , it just flowed in a loop....but up here you need heat in the spring and fall, so I found a better heater and put it back in. If you connect the heater port at the back of the head to the return port at the water pump you have created a radiator bypass loop. If you connect your hoses like that hopefully you had a shut off valve that was closed.
NiftyFifty
Ran open and fine for years like that, and the valve was wide open, no heating issues. Only issue I ever had was an electric gauge reading wrong..but a resistor fixed that.
