40plyguy
There's a pipe plug on the front and rear of the 230 I;m rebuilding. The square drive head of one cracked when trying to remove it. The metal it's made of seems very brittle and cracked with very little effort. I wanted to remove the plugs to finish cleaning the block. Are these plugs a standard pipe thread and what size are they? I tried removing the one on the other side of the block and it seems to be frozen in place even after heating it up a bit. Silverdome
They are a standard pipe plug. You should be able to find them at a hardware store with the screws or in the plumbing section. Spray them with some PB Blaster or something similar and let them set a while then they should come out. They are most likely cast iron.
