lonejacklarry
Anyone have a Hollander interchange manual for 1953 1/2 ton Dodge trucks? I need the part number for a '53 Dodge 1/2 ton 2WD 3 speed manual bellhousing Also, I would like to know what other years of vehicles that trans/part number might be available. Maybe my search will widen a little! Thanks, Larry
desoto1939
I would assume that you do not have a parts book or manual for your truck. This is one of the first few things tht you should buy when restoring or owning an antique car/truck. I would also suggest that you also purchase the Hollander book for your own reference material. These books are great and will also tell you what other parts are interchangeable and it will provide you with a lot of information. This is what the junkyards used when they resold parts. My Hollander does not go up to your truck year so I can not help you. Also a rate manual also somethimes list part numbers so that is another good book and also a motors book. I am not trying to be smart with my answer back to you but acquire the basic materials and you will have the information for your own library. lonejacklarry
Thanks, Rich, but I have the basic library for my '54 truck. My problem is that I am trying to use a <53 bellhousing (they are about 1" shorter than the '54) for a T5 conversion.
Elwood
Faxon sells the 1946 - 1956 reprint of the 23rd Edition: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1946-1956-Hollander-US-Parts-Interchange-Manual-/361074336557?hash=item5411b5232d:g:wO4AAOSwpDdVHsS6&vxp=mtr
lonejacklarry
Thanks, Elwood. I knew they were for sale but I was trying to avoid spending $75 for that one part number.
Elwood
Yeah, Hollanders are not cheap. I bought one when I was in a similar situation, but fortunately, I've found several occasions since then to make use of it, so it's been a worthwhile investment.
