Maybe because the fluid drive won't work without it?Sorry

sure will.   Well before the AoK boys had a triple, I had a Edmunds Triple on my 1953 Chrysler Windsor. Factory 265 and a semi-automatic.   George Asche did the 3 Plymouth carbs and linkage for it. It was a rock-stock engine and it definitely came alive.  It has been 25 years since I made the error, opened the hood at a car show and some guy started rolling off the dead presidents until I just couldn't say no!   At the time there were lots of people suggesting it wouldn't run, it would stall, it would do this and wouldn't do that.
