John Reddie
I had these photos of a '41 Plymouth and noticed the item that appears to be involved in the cooling system. Has anyone here seen this before and can identify it? John R
casper50
looks like some kind of thermostat to me. I've never seen one like that before though. Edited March 6, 2017 by casper50
Oldguy48
Never seen one of those before, but it looks like it could be a vacuum operated control valve for the heater hose....maybe.
Niel Hoback
Definitely a vacuum controlled water valve. Apply vacuum to the nipple and it opens the valve. No vacuum, no heat. Easier than the shut off valve on the back of the head.

Thanks for the responses. John R
