dale
Will a 1947 Plymouth starter interchange with a 1947 Chrysler with a six cyl. engine ? If so is the Chrysler starter somehowe different but still bolts on ? Thx
Cebreros
Not sure if they are interchangeable. The Autolite part numbers are different for the Starter motors. For the 1946-1948 Chrysler C38 6cyl and C39 8cyl are both MAX-4050. The bendix part number is MAX-3098A. For the 1946-1948 P15 Plymouth, the Starter Motor part number is MZ-4133 and the Bendix is EBB-8. Sorry for not answering the question, thought I would just post the info I found. Plymouthy Adams
you will find that one of the differences in the two is that the Chrysler has a greater RPM in operation compared to the Plymouth...am sure there is current draw difference and I have not a clue to mounting as I have none to compare.. desoto1939
According to my Hollander Interchange the Dodge 46-48 and Plymouth 46-48 will interchange. Autolite MZ4133 Rich HArtung
mopardude
I think that the two starters use different solenoids. I'm not sure of the other differences within the starter itself.
