jljarnes
I just bought a 1951 B3B with a flathead V6 and 4 speed manual fluid drive transmission. I'm just changing all the fluids but does anyone know if there is a way to change the fluid inside the fluid drive compartment/housing without pulling the whole tranny? Or do I even need to worry about changing it? I pulled the floor plate around the gear shifter and there is a removable cover that say's "Fill Here" but it looks to be a dry compartment? Thanks for your help.
Don Coatney
Congratulations on your purchase. Suggest you find a service manual for your truck before doing anything. Unless the fluid drive is leaking or not working suggest you don't fix what is not broke. On another note I have never seen a flathead V6
Jeff Balazs
It may not require anything other than checking the fluid level. The suggestion to get a service manual is a good one. Also there are several past threads on the subject here. It would be good to read through them before you do anything. Jeff
