Canadian Motor Mount

Hi all you nice people,

does anyone here have a picture of a front motor mount

originally used in a canadian-built P10?

Not the rubber part itself, but the big support bolted to the frame

that carries the rubber mount on top.

That would be nice... :) Just curious what the difference is.

Best,

Fred

Now, the Canadian motor mount is just like the U.S. one, except being in English and French.  The vintage U.S. parts are in English only.  Later parts came in English and Spanish.  Modern parts come in English, Spanish and Chinese.   (Just being silly.  I reserve the right to be silly.)

yeah..boxes are not big enough to have it printed in Chinese

I didnt think there was a difference between the US and CDN motor mounts.

Parts book shows #854405 for EVERY Dodge Plymouth Chrysler and DeSoto from 1940 - 1948

I would expect them to have the same mount. They just used it 2 inches forward in different frame holes.

Not every Dodge Plymouth Chrysler and DeSoto from 1940 - 1948 use that mount.

One car uses the same looking mount only 1-1/2" longer.

Part # 854405

1940 - 1948 Illustrated Passenger Car List

Chrysler Corporation of Canada

MASTER PARTS LIST

Issued Dec 1947

Book ID # WM-4205

Please understand...I am only posting factual info.

In other words I look at a parts book and try to add info that others are looking for.

Pictures are great but they are difficult to tell slight differences or nuances between similar but different parts.

The poster was asking about the CANADIAN part...so I went to the Canadian parts book and looked them up.

I have most ALL parts books.

Never found anything more accurate then the ORIGINAL dealer parts books.

Here is the parts book page the info came from.

It shows one parts number for ALL Canadian Dodge Chrysler Plymouth or DeSotos

I understand there are variations between & passenger vs. Limo vs Passenger car vs. Truck

also

US vs Canadian vs Knockdown Exports vs Australian etc.

I use the book most related to the question.

Of course there are always derivations BUT the parts book is the reference I use.

The motor mount I posted, it's from a truck, is that different than for 1940-48 cars?

Fred would like this mount, but do not want to send him something he can't use.....

I need details

Exact year make model of truck

Please post details so I can check the cross reference

I would interested in the exact "one car" you are referring to?

Make, Model, Year, Engine size & Trim would help.

I would be interested in checking against my dealer parts books.

All Chrysler straight eights.

So the original question was....

"does anyone here have a picture of a front motor mount originally used in a Canadian-built P10?"

The info and pictures I posted were from the Canadian parts book for the model make and year for the OP's question.

There were no 8 cylinder 1940 Plymouth P10's

The part number listed #854405 fits ALL models from the parts book listed

Refer to the left side column of the first photo for the year make and models listed.

Includes C25 C28 C34 & C38 S7 S8 S10 D14 D15 D16 D19 D20 D21 D24 D25 P10 P11 P12 P14 P15...all 6 cylinder cars ALL use the same part # 854405

You are correct...it does not apply to 8 cylinder or V8 or HEMI or Slant Six or V6 etc. equipped vehicles.

I am so sorry! I am so sorry! Mr Roadkingcoupe

I read it as insulator.... stupid me. :( ...

I will read the posts more carefully in the future, but you know it's tough responding to a post while watching Jerry Springer and Wendy Williams.

Maybe I should get some focus training from  PP.

Wow, thanks for being so precise there, Roadkingcoupe!

And thanks for posting the excerpts from your parts book.

Funny thing is the depicted part doesn't look like anything i've ever seen on these cars...

Mine shows a different parts number here,

says all 1940 (US) 6-cyl models use front support plate #854407 (Group 9-N Engine Support).

That would be P9 Roadking and P10 Deluxe from US fabrication.

Is the truck frame different from the sedan aside from the front suspension?

In any case i think the mount Fargo posted is the one i'm looking for, it's exactly like i imagined it

from what i can see here on my frame and mount and the measurements i made.

Andy: Sure, i'm doing my special black paint brush chrome magic here again :)

40Plyrod: You mean your car is a canadian unit?

Young Ed is Correct, Car is different then truck.

In his picture the mount is a closed circle.

In the photo below (taken of a car mount) it is more like a "Y"

The 39-47 trucks look quite different. Kinda hard to see but they are a complete circle rather than just being a Y.
