SimonTiki
Hi, The emergency brake isn’t working on my 1950 Dodge Wayfafer. I have adjusted it up but it’s not holding the vehicle. I haven’t stripped it down yet so I’m not familiar with this type of brake. Would I need to replace the Emergency Brake Band or the Emergency Brake Band Lining or both? desoto1939
These can be relined and if the lining is worn down than that would be the way to go. i have seen the entire bands now go for over !00 dollars for NOS. You will have to inspect the lining and check you service manaul on how to adjust and check for the clearance amount that should be betweenthe drum and the lining. This might be not set to the correct number. Rich Hartung
Mark D
Easy job to re-line yourself. Kits can be purchased from Oldmoparts.com or Robertsmotorparts.com Once it's done it will hold the car firm.
