HEADLIGHT WIRES FROM DIMMER SWITCH

Before I scratch a hole through my skull and crawl under the car does anyone know which wire from the dimmer switch are which?

 

Is it marked on the switch?

 

I removed the head light wires from the terminal and now I can't remember if the red or black wire from the dimmer switch is low-beam.  I didn't match the colors from the terminal to the headlight so I have to pull the headlight to check to colors from that end.

Aside frno the power in it doesn't really matter, one position will be low and one will be high.  so if its not one, its the other

Looking at my wiring diagram the Red wire is 14# and black is 16# which leads me to believe that the Red wire is the high beam

This might help. The double connection is for high beam and high beam indicator light.

I expect the neighbors would appreciate the get dressed part..............LOL

 

IF your carpet or floor mat is turned back where you can get to the two bolts holding the dimmer switch in place......

it makes the switch easier to work with (in my opinion) if you let it drop down.    While you are at it, you might make

sure all your connections are clean and tight.
