Plymouth 1949 vs. 1950

Hello,

I am trying to find out if the modells of those two years really display significant differences. From a mechanical perception probably not anyway. From a design perception though it feels to me as if the front part is slightly different.

Thanks for your insights again.

grille, deck lid appointments are main difference...position in height of fender trim and the position of the taillight on the 49 verse that of subsequent years ..the 49 has the smallest of all Plymouth rear track..  Other than that if you seen one you have seen them all and your choice is mainly which one is more appeasing to your own eye...the grille is often the biggest single aspect that usually divide the owners on the model as they are sister years..oh...and the 49 has the most popular style bumper across the line up of all makes and models and can be found not only on many x-brand cars retrofitted for that styling cue....they also are reproduced in a similar likeness..

The rear fenders were quite a bit different.  The '49 Mopars had the taillights at the joint between the fender and body (except for fastbacks?).  The '50's had the fenders extended past the edge of the body, and the tail lights resided on the rounded edge of the fenders.
