casper50
I've decided to replace all 4 of my tie rod ends while I'm rebuilding the frontend. NAPA can find 3 of them. Anyone have a number for the left outer tie rod end?
casper50
Bernbaum shows one in the catalog. I'll phone him tomorrow.

AlDeBear
Lot's of confusing information on this. I get the impression from this vendor link http://www.vapinc.com/mopar/Steering%20Parts/main.html that there are only two tie rod ends, inner & outer, for '39 to '56 Plymouths & Dodges. You might think otherwise after reading this post on p15-d24.com however. http://p15-d24.com/topic/36535-1949-plymouth-tie-rods/ This link may help you find what you need as well. http://shop.rareparts.com/smtp/shopdisplaycategories.asp?iyear=1947&imake=0016|DODGE&imodel=0365|CUSTOM&iproduct=0049|STEERING,%20GEAR,%20PUMP%20&%20COMPONENTS Prices are CRAZY from $20 to over $100. Good luck Larry Edited August 22, 2014 by AlDeBear
casper50
that's what I was finding. Everyone lists different. NAPA says two are the same and two are different. They don't carry the left outer. I ordered the 3 that they do carry and the left outer from Bernbaum. I hope they fit as shipping is almost as much as the ends. Solution desoto1939 Posted August 22, 2014 Solution Report Share Posted August 22, 2014 OK here is your answer to the tie rod ends Passenger side use the ES 60 Right and left Right is closest to the tire the left is closest to the pitman control Driver side uses ES131 Right and Left Right goes to the side of the pitman control the Left goes to the side of the left tire The numbers that I have listed were used across all manufacturers.
