waheed1969
Can anyone help with the piston to bore clearance on a 1948 218 engine please?
48mirage
I don't have the '48 info but I've got the piston clearances for the '49 to '52 230 cu in engines. I don't think they would be any different. They are .0015 - .

waheed1969
This is great thanks guys!! Also, I have the two piece bolt on main rear seal. Any solution if there is too much clearance between the seal and the crankshaft neck? visibly there is no wear on the crankshaft but I have purchased 2 Fel-Pro seals for this crank (230 or 218 engine) and they just dont seem to be a tight fit. I still have an oil leak
james49ply
I spent a full day replacing the felt with the rubber, no go still leaks, will go back to the felt when weather cools off.
