wdoland
I'm going to start replacing some of the wiring in my 46 Chrysler Windsor 4 door. I have a service manual which has the wiring diagram for a C38 and I also have a copy of my wiring in color. I cannot find any info on what gauge wire to use,. Does anyone have the correct size wire to use? I know you shouldn't go smaller but is it ok to go larger? I'm not going the harness route, just want to do a little at a time starting with the headlights, turn signals and wiring to the trans relay. Young Ed
Yes for some reason the 46-48 plymouth wiring diagram didn't show gauge either. I used the 49 chart as a reference. I did also go a little larger on some of the wires. All the lighting that used 16 was upgraded to 14 for my car. Some of that was because its better and it also reduced the supply list. Plymouthy Adams
D19-D24 shop manual also does not make reference to wire gauge on the schematic drawing...do reference the Plymouth as Ed stated..

wdoland
Does this seem right? If so, the numbers after the color is the gauge? For example, the horns use a 10 gauge green wire?
Plymouthy Adams
yes..number is the gauge..the color can be before or after the number depending on room on the schematic Edited February 8, 2014 by Plymouthy Adams
