Raceandoval Posted October 23, 2013 Report Share Posted October 23, 2013 I currently have a Carter 1 BBL Model E7L2 with a dashpot off a 1949 Chrysler Windsor with a flathead 6 250cu. Dodgeb4ya Posted October 23, 2013 Report Share Posted October 23, 2013 Why do you want to eliminate the anti-stall portion of the carb (the two wire electro-magnetic part) ? That means if you find a carb with out that portion you will also find that you will also end up with out a built in kick down switch.. Those Fluid Drive M-6 type carbs show up often enough to find a rebuildable one if you need one. If the car is stock keep the factory E7L2 carb to keep all the wiring and electrical components operating correctly for the M-6 transmission. The Carter E7L2 are good trouble free carburetors. Dodgeb4ya Posted October 23, 2013 Report Share Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) It will run fine with out the plunger rod and spring till you find one. All that does is supposedly prevent a idle stall coming to a very harsh stop. I have run them without. No issues. I would find a parts carb though if you can.
