Ot-Graphene Supercapacitors-Ot

Gents,

Discussion of batteries has long been centered around their longevity and the concept of improving them.  While flapping around the internet this morning (specifically Google+) I ran across this article:

http://boingboing.net/2013/02/21/graphene-supercapacitors-could.html

While the inventors of these super capacitors aren't claiming them to be anything more then what they are, their inventors did win the Nobel Prize in 2010 for them.  They are cheap to make, give a long service life, and are organic when you're done with them, so it would seem the better mousetrap has been invented.

It will be interesting to see where they go.

Bob,

You're right, but to me any new technology in battery development  is exciting.  The inventors are accredited in their fields and, unlike cold fusion, their ideas have been easily duplicated.  (I'm not sure why the bit about cold fusion even came up other than some doom-speak was looking for something negative to say.)  I don't expect to toss my Die Hard any time soon but just that progress is being made in "alternative" battery science makes me feel good.
