Suddensix
Mz-4133 Thanks Tim. Is that the number on the tag on the starter?
Robert Horne
There is a red tag on each starter with the number embossed on it. 1949 Plymouth and newer had a number starting with a MCH. 1956 starters have a green tag, 12 volts. I have a 56 starter on my 36 engine, so many different starters can be used on many different engines.
Plymouthy Adams
Thanks Tim. Is that the number on the tag on the starter? ...this is straight out of the Motors manual for the application as you asked..I cannot say more..sorry..! Suddensix
Thanks all. The number I was seeking is MAW 4041 which apparently fits 46 to 55 Plymouth 6. After several false starts I finally found it on the net.
Plymouthy Adams
the starter you have, MAW 4041 is actucally for a 46-48 Dodge 230 ..you never know over the years what may end up on what car as so much will interchange..for what it is worth, the Chrylser for those years is MAX 4050 and DeSoto is MAW 4025
tom61
I have a S11 Desoto (1947) and the starter auto lite number is MAW 4025. By any chance, does anyone know where I can buy one? I had originally bought antique starters from rock auto but they don't have this one at the moment.
