B1B Keven
I'm pretty pleased with the way they came out. If anyone is interested in the step by step, I'd be happy to help. B1B Keven
Here ya go. 1. Remove the old 'body' and trace on new hardboard (I got mine at Lowes). 2. Cut to size (I made mine an inch taller). 3. Cut two pieces of cardboard about a half inch larger than the hardboard (left, right and bottom sides). 4. Reattach the hardboard to the arm using staples or rivets. 5. Using spray adhesive, glue the cardboard onto the hardboard. 6. Using the hardboard as a pattern cut one piece of marine grade vinyl (enough to wrap completely around the body) and glue to body on both sides (I bought mine a Joanns Fabrics. A half yard is plenty). 7. Using a pair of wide jawed pliers, go around the perimeter of the hardboard, gently making a relief for the edging. 8. Go to your local wrecking yard. Get some old pinch seam edging/trim and remove the chrome clips from a pair of old sun visors. 9. Trim the edging/trim to fit and add the chrome clips. Bob's your uncle! B1B Keven
Keven, You're a Genius! Yuk, Yuk, Yuk, Curley No Hank, I'm just cheap! All told, I think I spent about $35 and still have about 95% of a sheet of hardboard.
