Joe Flanagan
As far as I've been able to tell, there is only one hanger on the exhaust system between the manifold and the tail pipe. Is this correct? Since the car was half gone when I got it, I'm not sure of the original condition.
desoto1939
Joe, On my 39 Desoto which has the big 6 engine there are two hangers for the exhaust system. One is just behind the muffler and the other is at the rear of the car for the tailpipe. The tailpipe is a straight hanger with a round rubber grommet at the top with a bolt goes throught. the bottom section is open for the tailp[ipe to go throught. Also this same hanger was used on some Chevys from the the early years and sometimes you can find them cheaper. rich hartung
Norm's Coupe
You should be able to buy the hangers just about anywhere. When CarX made my tailpipe and installed it they removed the old hangers. Then installed new hangers in their place right off the shelf.
