P-12 Tommy
Hey guys, which flat side of the door weatherstrip do I apply the 3-M glue to? The 3/4" or the 1/2". Here's a couple of pics. Thanks, Tom
norrism1
P12 Tommy, Not that nobody wants to help you, but most here would not give you the wrong info or a flippent answer. Someone will give you an answer, they just haven't been online yet probably.

Normspeed
Wish I knew. MyP24 came with a box of new weatherstrip but I haven't gotten going on the install. Now, what I have heard is, once the new stuff is in, you may find the doors are harder to close, until the new stuff takes a set with the doors shut. P-12 Tommy
I know what you mean Norm. I just didn't want to glue the wrong side. At least it won't sound as much of a tin can when I shut the doors. Tom

Norm's Coupe
I don't know the answer to this question either. But.........I find it interesting, strange and funny that no one else seems to be able to answer the question either. Seems like someone should know the answer right off the bat. Especially those who have claimed to do ground up restorations. Did they not install weatherstrip? If not, they didn't do a full ground up restoration. dparksie
The glue goes to the 3/4 side. Just make sure to use alcohol to clean the surface first. The trick is to go quick and even don't kink it the glue goes fast.
cwcars88
If you can't get the door to shut with out slamming it, you may have to back off on the latch, as the rubber takes a set you can keep bringing the latch setting back in untill you are satisfied. Niel Hoback
Try not to stretch the rubber as you go around the opening. I understand thats pretty obvious, but I get in a hurry doing stuff like that end up having to do it again. It seems to me that I glued the wide side and that it was mostly up against the inside corner of the door frame.
