48 dodge and plym seats- free

I am removing the seats from 2 cars 48 dodge and plym both 4 doors. The cars are parts cars but the seats are pretty good can be easily re done- Anyone want them? Free fro the taking.

Would any of these seats be compatible with a 49 Plymouth four-door? I'm looking for the bench cushion for the front seat. I could use a better whole front seat assembly, if it's compatible.

if it is a 49 that is or looks like the 48 it will work but if it is the later 49 no.

Mine is a second series 49, so I guess it's a no-go. Too bad, because I was looking forward to a road trip down to Dublin, GA.

I think the second series is a smaller car with a little different styling

of the seat, perhaps.

What I would like to find is some individual springs.....to hopefully use to

replace some weak and rusted ones in my front seat....maybe also the

rear seat. When I get around to taking them to the upholsterer.

One local trim shop says he can't buy the springs nowadays.

Someplace in the archives I should have a catalog from an upholstery supply house that has all kinds of automotive upholstery hardware, etc. Just about anything you need to upholster a car, including the tools. I'll see if I can dig it out sometime between now and the first of the year, and look to see if they have springs. It's getting pretty busy now with the holidays coming up so not sure when I'll get to it. Sounds like you're not in a hurry anyway. Found this place when I was redoing my inside sunvisors. Got the thin board from them. They also had the little stainless tips that go on the trim of the visors. However, didn't buy those because I was able to salvage my old ones.
