Lou Earle
I am gathering everything to put a 5 speed into my 48 taxi. Have the adapter plate and bushining. If possible want to do this engine in car, Has anyone removed the input bushing with engine in car? If so how do you go about it. Thanks Lou
james curl
Lou, I packed mine with axle grease then took a piece of 3/4" dowel and inserted it into the end of the bushing and hit the free end of the dowel with a dead blow hammer and the grease pushed the bushing out. If that does not work and it doesn't always then I have used my Dremmel tool with a carbide bit and cut relief’s into the bushing and took a small narrow chisel and folded the bushing up between the relief’s and removed it. Hope this helps.

BeBop138
Wayne, I used the Wilcap adapter plate and flywheel, when your ready give me a shout and will go over it with you in detail. There are various ways of using the T-5 and you can find them on previous posts. Don Coatney used a different approach, Paul Curtis has a adapter, along with Langdons. To me it depends on your skills and pocketbook. My self it was about even which way I went. The Wilcap just put me farther down the road sooner. Good Luck:)
Plymouthy Adams
Lou..if you have room to insert the alignment tool..you should be able to remove the bushing with the engine still in the bay...
