I can pop it out from the rear, but as soon as I start to work on it, it pops back in. It is over 1/4 inch deep so I don't want to fill it with bondo. Allan Faust Posted September 7, 2008 Report Share Posted September 7, 2008 Greg, the heat is just to allow the panel to "shrink", since the dent stretched the metal in the area... by heating, popping the dent back and then quenching (before it oil cans), the metal should shrink enough that the oil can effect won't happen. Plymouthy Adams Posted September 7, 2008 Report Share Posted September 7, 2008 got to break the egg to make the omelette...heat the panel opposite the undercoat...press against the undercoat side to prevent it from shifting while you quench it...it can get to be a bit stinky in the shop at times...get out the exhaust fan and go to work..remember..the actual damage is on the very outer edges of the CUPPED areas when it tin cans...thisis where you start your quench..not the middle Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
