  1. I am about to try to rebuild the front end on my 1954 Plymouth Suburban. I noticed in the manual that several "special" tools were mentioned. Are they REQUIRED? If so, are they available? Does anybody have a video of this process or a series of pictures with do's and don'ts or recommendations?
  2. Purchased a C Clamp from Harbor Freight for the express purpose of pressing out the passenger door hinge pin. Not too many turns of the screw later and the clamp split. Looking for a C Clamp recommendation that has a good price to strength ratio
  3. I was working on my boat trailer the other day and I needed some 3/4" wrenches. I was trying to get to various bolts in various positions and I didn't know exactly which would work best. I didn't want to crawl in and out from under the trailer 6 times so I thought I would just grab all the 3/4 wrenches. That turned out to be a bigger task than I had thought. I was interested to find that by the time I had picked out all my 3/4" wrenches, I had more available than any other size. I'm wondering if this is just an oddity of my tool collection, or if this is a statistical fact born out across the business. Is 3/4" really the most popular size? I own 15. (My next closest was 9/16", at 11 wrenches.) So for the sake of my quasi-scientific curiosity I'm asking you to look in your drawers and tell me what you find! No no, Plymouthy, the tool box drawers please.
  4. Hi Everybody, one of the valve springs of my 230 is broken so I have to install a new one. Now I tried to get a tool here in Germany to compress the valve spring to unistall the valves but I didn't get one that fits or works well. The engine and manifolds are still intsalled and I don't want to put them off. What kind of tool do you use and where did you get it from? Thanks in advance Kai
  5. From the album: my 218 to 230 build

    I made this 2 tools to remove stuck water jacket tube, it was stuck way in there as you can see its broken i made this tool out of 1/8" thick aluminum strap and i cut out a hook also sharpened the tip so it can slide in like a screw driver as i pulled it out it broke in half and half was stuck way in there but after a few mins i got it hooked and got the other half out.. This works great for rotted out tubes now block is off to machine shop for reboring and acid bath
