  1. I have started installing the headliner. I'm thinking that I should ensure that pillar to the rear of the back door is key and that I should start there.
  2. I wanted to insulate the roof of the car and have been thinking about it for along time. Today I used a Frost King water heater blanket 48x75 to accomplish the task. So far I have glued it in place with adhesive and that is being held up by the bow. Hopefully it will stay in place when I remove the bows to put them in the headliner. I sprayed the insulation and then used the bows to it stretch out and hold it in place. Wish me luck.
  3. I am working on a 52 buss coupe and at the point of needing to install the rear windshield but I cant seam to find the correct seal for the back glass. I have talked to steele rubber and I have rear seal part #40-0445-81 from steele witch is supposed to be correct but the rear seal that came out of the car has an extra lip to cover the area where the headliner attaches, The new rubber has nothing to cover this area. Not sure if wind lace is need or a garnish molding is missing. any help or photos would be very appreciated.
  4. I've heard of other ways to skin this cat (like using valve stems, etc), anyway - I just wanted to share that ebay seller "fmmpar" has headliner bow grommets available for $4.95 a pair....shipping is $2.67. The full description in ebay is ( 1940 41 42 46 47 48-54 Plymouth Dodge DeSoto Chrysler HEADLINER BOW GROMMET Pair ). I went ahead and bought a set for our project, as they don't look to be old dried out grommets, so we'll see.....this seller has a 99.8 positive feedback rating and does offer returns and refunds. Steve.
  5. First of all, thanks to all on this forum that have answered my MANY questions in this last month. It really is appreciated, and nice to see other fellow car enthusiasts. Just let me know if I wear out my welcome lol. I searched the forums and didn't find anything about how to go about removing my headliner. I'm going to do it, as it's holding the last of the mouse odor in it, and it's unsalvageable in my opinion anyway. Can I just go at it with a razor knife? I know that I should probably save the cross members that I can feel in there, but other than that is there any other method or things that I should know about to save? Thanks. Joe
  6. Hi all, I have in-hand a new headliner I bought for a 2-door '47 Plymouth. I have the bows. I do not understand how the headliner attaches to the area near the windlace. I have attached pictures. Please help.
