  1. The springer front end is from a 30's Flathead. Don't see many of those. Cool old Knuckle!
  2. Thanks Don! This is exactly what I was looking for. You've saved me a lot of headaches.
  3. I'll happily settle for 'works'! This is my first brake system rebuild, and I'm learning as I go. I've seen plenty of photos here with the MC conversion, but I haven't been able to find anything about the makes they came from. I will look into a 97 Cherokee MC, as well as any others that are suggested here. Thank you!
  4. Hi everyone, I am in the process of rebuilding my '49 Plymouth's brake system, which includes upgrading to front discs. I definitely want to go with a two chamber Master Cylinder. Can anyone please tell me which two chamber master cylinder fits and works best for a 1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe? Thanks!
  5. I put a very thin coat of brake grease on axle taper and key, then torque the axle nut to 150 ft pds, That will do nicely. Thank you!
  6. My first post here, and I have to say, you folks know your stuff! I am getting ready to do the same thing to my 49 Special Deluxe for the first time, and I have a question: Taking the rear drum off sounds fairly straightforward (now that I've read about it), but what about reinstalling it? Will simply retightening the axle nut do the trick? Does it have to be torqued? Does the drum have to be pressed or hammered back in? I've gone through the manual, I've read your posts about removing the drum, but I can't seem to find anything that covers reinstalling the drum.
