Hi friends
following a previous post regarding seats for a 53 dodge b4.i took the advice and purchased a Dodge Durango second seat. Which included two separate seats and a flip down console. After comparing the seat to the frame-the seat was about 9 inches shorter in width. So my question is-did anyone else use this seat?2. If so did you cut the seat from the bottom front mounting rail and spread it out width- wise to compensate for the additional width needed. After reading this previous posts -I’ve. not seen anything lately.. Thank you for reading.Anyfeed backseat is appreciated.
Hi guys
some time in the past, someone posted using a second seat Dodge Durango seat in a 1953 b4 . Well I bought a seat and the width is very close, but since they are mounted to the floor and tilt forward. How do I attach the seat unit to my b49 seat slider frame.? I thought of welding an angle on the front edge of the 53 seat slider frame, and then weld the durango seat mounting rod with floor tabs to it. My 2nd question is - is not the seat too high.?
Thank you for the help.

Hello ,
To everyone once again.Im still trying to get this to work. Now does anyone have a material

Hello ,
To everyone once again.Im still trying to reengineer Rusty Hopes brake conversion kit. When I addressed this situation-which was that the spindles were too short to properly install the cotter pin in the castle nut on the spindle.Ive finally decided to consult a machine shop on shortening the rotor hub and recutting the bearing cup to give me more spindle thread length. I’ve talked to other members using his kit and they have no issues-so I guess my B4 is an odd ball. If I follow thru on this endeavor I will post on the out come.If anyone has this situation on their pilot house trucks- let me know how they addressed this problem. Thanks
Hey guys,
Need some genuine advice.Recently got my 276 hemi in my 1953 b4.
It seems that when I try to install. the starter it doesnt bolt up to the trans due to a corner of the block protruding into the space. I called hot heads hemi and They never heard of a problem like that. Every single goes on th they never heard of a problem like that. So if I have A 904 transmission instead of a 727 transmission which one of the A 904 transmission instead of a 727 transmission which one of the torque converter’s do I buy to match up with the starter.
Issue number two . Since the new starter is right in front of the stock since the new starter is right in front of the stock steering box if any you guys put a hemi in your old truck cool how did you re-route the steeriing.I thought maybe going to a later year that had a V-8 stock motor this I thought maybe going to a later year that had a V-8 stock motor this steering gear would mount different and give me clearance . I am keeping the drop front axle . Thank you for your help
I have a 53 b4 Dodge truck. I was thinking about putting the grill together not using the grill fender pods and only mounting the parking light lenses to the fenders as I seen in several posts. Is this just the grill pod cover ring and lense?or is this a separate parking lite assembly. ? It looks like the 55 parking lites are very similar. Thanks
Hello to everyone
I’m in the process of changing my 53 pilot house to 12 V negative ground .I want to use my original gauges. So I’m asking what I have to do besides the volt reduction resister and the lights in the gauges to make them work how do I hook up the negative grounds to the gauges because they were positive ground before .thanks
Thank you for. Your response . I’ve been posting on this awhile and have stated in previous posts that I had changed to a 99 Cherokee 3:55 rear . I like the third member e brake idea.
hi Everyone
still workin I’m my b4.getting the 276 hemi in -chose a A500 trans.dodge auto with o d . Now I was planning on keeping my interior kinda bland- BUT maybe John at pilot house interior ,can talk me into one of his real nice additions. Any how I’m planning on using a Hurst short shift-i got for free as my gear selector.my question is-Since the stick is cable driven -what kind of setup looks good on the floor-to use as a gear selector console. I wanted to keep it primitive- but haven’t got a clue..Even thought of putting the long handle style manual shift lever-(lookin like stick shift. But can’t figure how to base it off at the floor-Maybe a stick lever boot-but the doesn’t solve the gear sector question. All help appreciated.
Thanks

really appreciate the feed back.A Dakota 518 is what I need then.Must it come from a v6 or v8? I’m not up to date on any late model mopar components. Tha 276 I’m getting has a Wilcap adapter on it now but it’s for a 39 ford. I did call pat McGuire- but as of yet he hasn’t answered. I’m never worked inside an auto trans other than service. But the one wire overdrive is what I need. What year Dakota is that from? If you don’t mind once the engine is in Imight need some more info - so I’d like to contact you .thanks greatly
Hi to all,
Got a 53 b4.putting the small block hemi 276 in. I have a 3:55 ratio diff . Need a suggested auto trans w/ overdrive to use . Would prefer staying with mopar manuf...Read several posts suggesting Dakota trans. Not familiar with any of these trans. Would appreciate any knowledge related to this.
Thanks
