  1. Funny, I'm in the middle of rewiring my 48 right now. I have built a new harness with help from this website: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/wiring_harness/wiring.htm The .pdf download at the very bottom of the page lays it out well. the only issues I've run in to are that I have a B-1-HA, requiring longer wires to the rear lights, and the wire from the ammeter to the coil wasn't long enough. Otherwise, it has been correct and easy to build.
  2. Thanks all for the help. I know it is an A, as it does have the 2 speed rear end. I will count the springs tomorrow. I will be posting more photos soon. I have gotten some great info on this blog and the DEPTCA sight for both this truck and my '47 WF.
  3. Dennis - thanks for the info. The 2nd owner (I am the 4th owner) is the one that let DMV take the plate. Wish I could get it back, but it sat for years between then and now, and again is no longer in the DMV records.
  4. Thanks for the reply. I have already visited that link. Unfortunately, it lists all the models possible, and I am not sure what the exact differences there are between the FA, HA, & HHA
  5. I am new to the Pilothouse trucks and have just picked up a 1948 1 1/2 ton B1. The wonderful people at the DMV removed the original data plate to assign a state specific vehicle ID #. I have found the serial # on the frame, as well as the engineering code. Now I need to figure out if this truck is a B1FA or B1HA. Anybody able to help me with this? Thank you
