  1. Yes, checked all and even adjusted all. I do run High test 93 octane and sometimes I run 93 octane non ethanol when I am nearby that gas station.
  2. Hey guys. Got a 34 plymouth and took the drivetrain from a 55 savoy which had a 56 dodge coronet motor in it. Anyway, I noticed last year I stumbling and stalling when coming to a stop if I didn't give it enough gas. Well now the carb sounds like it just sucking air. Currently on it now is a carter ball and ball I had this rebuilt last year as well. I had on the shelf was a bxvd-3 that was fresh rebuild and I figured it would just bolt up fine apparently I was wrong. Do I need a different manifold for this bxvd-3 carb? I believe the manifold I am using is still from the 1934 motor.
  3. Thanks I might look into this
  4. Yea, I mean period correct for the D62 not necessarily the car. I found an old BXVD-3 (3-59) I think these were off pickup and I assume its not much different.
  5. Thanks! I actually have an Edmunds as well! It could probably use a polish but for the most part its in really good condition. I don't know if I want to run dual carbs yet though. I think it would be easier to find a period correct carb for that engine with a dashpot and also more economical. My current exhaust manifold is not that great and was cracked once and brazed. I guess I can go with a stromberg BXVD-3 Anyone know the model number for a carter one with the dash pot?
  6. Thanks! Yea I never thought it would honestly be this much trouble. The carb was rebuilt and I just didn't understand why it would stall only coming to a light or stop sign. I'm currently working on getting a intake manifold and split exhaust. Just figured I'd try to address this issue as well. If anyone has anything for sale let me know that too please.
  7. Alright, so car show season is almost upon us. And I think I may have found out why my car stalls when I am pulling up to a red light or stop sign. I transplanted a 56 dodge 230(rebuilt) and a 55 powerflite transmission in my 1934 plymouth. The donor car did not have intake, carbs,or exhaust manifold. So I ended up using everything from my original 1934 Plymouth. I don't think in 1934 they had dashpots. So I guess my next questions would be does anyone know what kind of carb I should be looking for now?
  8. Dj canada is different than the US....You guys use the one with the bolts. The kit I got was for a 53 mine is 56 dodge. I'll guess Ill just pull the motor in the winter time and enjoy it for the summer.
  9. Yea i put the little rubber in when I tightened up the main you could seal their little tails so I know thats in correctly. Man just don't feel like pulling the motor. The top still has the rope gasket but most of the time no one ever has any issues with the top. I bought the best gasket rubber one because it seems to recommended. Forgot to mention that its only leaking when running.
  10. Hey guys, Maybe I'm missing something here. Rebuilt my 56 dodge 230 had it in the car the rear main leaked it was rope style kept it for a few weeks ordered a new rubber one from best gaskets. Replaced it today and seems like the thing is still leaking am I missing something here?
  11. Jeff, these people were great to work with. I called them and got all the parts I needed to rebuild my p28 (56 dodge) engine. Easier to call than online. Everything came quick no issues at all. They are actually about $400 bux cheaper than any of the other guys.... Good luck
  12. Man thanks so much for the information I really appreciate it!
  13. Guys thanks so much! I really appreciate it! looks like I will be buying parts tonite!
  14. Ok, this is probably a stupid question but, I have a 56 dodge 230 we just rebuilt. I wanted to redo the distributor but I noticed that this distributor is from a 51 dodge. This is going into a 6v car are the parts interchangeable from says a 55 distributor? Just trying to source parts on rockauto and it didn't list anything for a 51 did but it did for a 55. 1AT-4011 (1343554) Unless someone else can recommend to buy some parts that would be great! Thanks
  15. Well just left the yard again the block in there with the transmission is a D62 so I'm guessing the 56 dodge engine played nice with the 55 powerflite? Yea I know what you are saying but the parts are more easily accessible I guess is a better way put.
