  1. I’m eastern MA, but south - Sharon.
  2. Well, there are you two, and me - where are you located, bacelaw?
  3. Didn’t realize lowriders were that big in Maine…..
  4. I haven't built the 230 it's going on yet, but when I bought my Offy intake they were more common on ebay and I bought the best deal at the time: $300, linkage included, free shipping. I know now Offy isn't the best performing manifold but I have it and the carbs; if performance is what I was after there is always the dreaded LS swap. For those interested in fabricated manifolds and are leery of DYI, Google "Manifolds by Moose"; he's a member of the forum and I've seen his work (Moose is fairly local to me here in Massachusetts).
  5. Thanks for posting, Radar - the other day I was wondering if you still had the truck!
  6. Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy 2024 to all!
  7. Great idea! The term bar is a much better bed rub strip than it is a roofing detail!
  8. Your kids do good work! I try to make the Syracuse Nats each year and have looked over your raffle cars. Good luck with this one and keep posting pics!
  9. I guess I have a varied taste in YT content. There are YT channels I watch to learn something directly related to my car (Keith’s channel), and I too enjoy Dan/DD Speed Shop turning six cylinder four doors into two door hot rods (even if they are generally Chebbies). There are a few channels I support monetarily (I used to buy several car magazines each month but there is little print good subject matter these days, so I spend my subscription money to keep video I like on the air). These are: Pole Barn Garage (guy and his 14 year old son have a blast building a variety of decent streetable stuff on the cheap using self-tappers and Bondo; Dalton’s message, like DD Speed Shop, is drive it!), Carter Auto Restyling (a metal working artist saving twisted rusty crap seamlessly with off beat humor), Strong’s Garage (Early Ford experts using period tools in a restored turn of the century garage I’d live in!), Shed By The Tracks (cranky old guy like me building and rebuilding a Model T speedster in his underlie single bay garage with hand tools, original soundtrack music and wit) and the channel that I cannot recommend highly enough: Cold War Motors (Scott, another extremely talented body man, and his large bunch of friends have a ball messing around with all kinds of cars with silly car related interludes while having a lot of laughs and I aways learn something). Do yourself a favor and check these channels out - i bet you’l find one you’l stick with.
  10. That is a sweet looking little unit!
  11. This is a nice, honest car - as hi-volt said, a scrub and buff could have a surprising result.
  12. One of my favorite quotes is from his road test of a ‘54 DeSoto: “Solid as the Rock of Gibraltar and just as fast.”
  13. This is my first visit to the Syracuse Nationals since '19, and as in the past I thought I'd share the subjects this group would find most interesting. The P15 business coupe is a 16k mile original, and the modified vehicles all have MoPar powertrains (I stop looking when I see a belly button motor - that's just me, your taste may vary!)
  14. Can't wait to see your grille treatment finished and in paint!
  15. Good to see you posting on the Suburban again,Paul, it’s been one of my favorite projects to follow on the forum. Please share the paint process with us, I always find it satisfying. How about starting a thread on Zach’s coupe project; no performance anxiety, just be director/cameraman! Stay well!
  16. Hope you have a speedy, full recovery - take care; we’ll be here when you are better.
  17. When in school our kids were involved in sports and theater, so I am familiar with the concept of furnishing the talent and then paying to watch. I do not go to enough 'awards type' shows anymore to take exception to a $25 fee with no reward expected if the venue is nice and I know there will be a lot of neat cars I wouldn't see otherwise - I go to maybe two a season like that, and it really comes down to having a full day to invest in the activity. I will more often attend a nearby large (1000+ car) bi-weekly cruise night that I can go to after work; if I get home soon enough I'll take an old MoPar, but I can get away with parking my daily ('22 Challenger R/T Shaker) in the lot if I ran late. Of course for all those cars at the cruise night, a lot of them aren't all that interesting, (like my Challenger, which is far from the only car of its ilk on any given night).
  18. As a second generation draftsman, my compliments on your sketch!
  19. Hats off to you, sir - impressive engineering and fabrication effort!
  20. Been following the story of your Suburban, Paul - keep us informed how it goes!
