  1. 2-15-20: Back home and ready to put her away. It was a satisfying little run. As usual I got some waves and strange looks too ?
  2. 2-15-20: Pic 1: no one behind us. Pic 2: at the market filling up with 93 octane.
  3. 2-15-20: Pic 1: I know I've posted this before, but check out the finger print under the steering wheel cap. How would that get there, and stay there for that matter? Pic 2: Cruising along again toward the market. My son fell asleep because the sound of the engine is so calming.
  4. 2-15-20: At the recycling drop off. Pic 2: cruising to the market for gas. Stopped for a quick snapshot ?
  5. 2-15-20: Cole and I ready to go. Recyclable bin next to him in the back seat.
  6. 2-15-20: Finally warmed up into the 30s today. The snowmobilers we're zipping by our place while Meadowbrook warmed up. Today's task: haul recyclables. ?
  7. 2-8-20: Pic 1: Leaving my brother's place under clear skies. The Meadowbrook is always fun for night cruising. Pic 2: Dropped off my daughter at her friend's house way out in the boonies on a dead end road.
  8. 2-8-20: Pic 1: The Elba Tower, Elba MN. Old fire tower on the National Historic sites list. If you ever want a work-out, climb up the stairs leading to it! Pic 2: Parked in front of my brother's house for a good visit. He hadn't seen the car since I had the engine rebuilt 3 years ago. We drove all over and had a blast.
  9. 2-8-20: Car running good. It gave my daughter and I great peace on our way to the Amish Market for lunch.
  10. 2-8-20: Daughter and I went out for a long cruise and a visit with my brother and his kids. It started out bad. When I flipped on the heater switch, I smelled gas. Dumped some floor dry down and pulled back into the garage. Jacked up the car. Gas was dripping out around the fuel pump. I tightened the inlet and hose clamp, and the bolts that hold the fuel pump together. Problem solved. Roads were clear. Sun was shining. Pic: Warming up before we left.
  11. Looking good man!? Keep us posted on the progress.
  12. Feb. 3, 2020: Drove my daughter to a neighboring town at 7pm for a haircut. I parked right in front of the door, and as soon as we walked in the gal that cut my daughter's hair asked what year the Meadowbrook was and said she liked it. Pic 2: at Kwik Trip for a soft drink. It was windy and cold, but the heater kept us toasty. ?
  13. Out on the highway for a cruise. 2-2-2020
  14. Last pic: Heading out to the highway (Judas Priest)? My daughter fell asleep as the Meadowbrook's purring engine lulled her and the rest of us while the sun warmed up the cabin. ?
  15. Friend's trailer. He's heading out to Western MN soon to his mom's place to retrieve his 1970s Porche which is in pieces. 2nd pic: Travel Plaza owner using his 78 Ford boom truck to replace lights.
  16. 2-2-20: Kids and I went out for another cruise today. Grabbed some snacks at my friend's gas station (Whitewater Travel Plaza) and then headed over to another friend's place to check out his new car hauling trailer. Got lots of smiles and waves as usual.
  17. Looking good man! At first glance I thought you were a crash dummy! Glad you're enjoying the car.
  18. Feb. 1, 2020: Going to a barn dance; Feb. 1952? Just kidding ?. We could pretend by just glancing at the photo. Well not really with my Buick and Caddy in the background.
  19. Feb. 1, 2020: No slippage with the Fluid drive in my driveway.
  20. Feb. 1, 2020: Out on the highway at 55mph. Heater was fine on low; window slightly cracked ?
  21. 2-1-20: Did a little maintenance on the Meadowbrook today. I changed the plugs and put in a new battery. The old plugs were pretty fouled from just putzing around town. Took it out for about a 25 mile test drive in the 35 degree weather. The main roads were clear, but the gravel road leading to my house was a sloppy mess. I hadn't driven the car recently, and as always it was a great joy! People downtown were staring like they'd never seen a car older than 1995 ? My older daughter and son rode with. I might take it out for a night drive... Pics 1 & 2: I had the hood open to check for leaks.
  22. Big difference between the '98 with the Cummins and the '18 with the Fiat diesel. You did good! Mine had major design flaws they just didn't know how to deal with or fix.
  23. 70 years old (darn near), and my Meadowbrook is the most reliable vehicle I own. My '18 Ram Ecodiesel was a piece of junk lemon. I had to trade it off. Yet my Meadowbrook will start and run when it's 100F or -33F. Never had any major problems so far. Simplicity is a big part of it. These damn new cars are so complicated for no real reason in my opinion. Technology has gotten us nowhere. Okay, rant over ?
