  1. Got it running and pulled it outside ?
  2. 6-14-19: Time to get some things done! I bought a battery and some nice 00 cables, a fuel filter, and brought along the carburetor I rebuilt. Took me 10 times longer than it would anybody else, but I got the truck running. It fired right up as a matter of fact. I pulled it out of my friend's storage shed and my kids and I drove it around the parking lot. The brakes don't work but the emergency brake does, so I just drove in first gear. I couldn't believe how easy it steered. I had great visibility as well. You can see your blind spot out of those little side windows behind your head. I'm hoping to haul it home later tonight, but I'm not sure if I'll make it back over there. Can't wait to get it home so I can work on it in my own garage!
  3. It should be that simple....not sure what state you live in. Here in Minnesota, the YOM plate needs to have at least one letter on it so as to not conflict with certain state vehicles, which have all numbers. I did this with my Meadowbrook and that plate isn't even readable beyond like 10 feet! LOL Otherwise, if your DMV doesn't allow it, you can put on any plate you desire while you're at a show or gathering. Then, if it were me, I'd conveniently leave them on and if I was ever pulled over I'd just say I left from a car show and forgot to change the plates. The cops around here don't even bother with us car enthusiasts. I could put on any plate I chose ?
  4. 6-13-19: My son and I picked up my daughter from the public pool, drove her home and then cruised out on Hwy 10 at 55mph. Round trip about 25 miles. After cruising around town at 15mph, 55 seemed really fast. My son took the pic. When we were cruising around town some kid walking down the sidewalk said to his dad, "Look! An old Dodge."
  5. I've been getting my miles in at work!?
  6. 6-12-19: Out for a cruise with my kids. We "creeped" around town for about an hour and a half, mostly in second gear. We stopped at Kwik Trip for a snack and ate in the car. It's been cool here, perfect for cruising. Pic 1: Main Street Chatfield, MN Pic 2: my son snapped my pic Pic 3: home again
  7. Awesome! Nice to hear you drive and enjoy the car ?
  8. Awesome! Congrats! Looking good ?
  9. 6-5-19: Another evening cruise to "creep" around town with the kids. Sure has been fun!
  10. June 5: Saw this '46 in the wild today. Figured I'd just post it in my own thread as it reminded me that I need to get my butt in gear and put the carb back on my '48...and get it home! Still in storage an hour away ?
  11. Also, Fluid Drive would have nothing to do with your carb or ignition system for that matter. A Gyromatic would on the other hand. Another way to tell if you have FD (which we know you don't as Merle pointed out), start the engine, push in the clutch, put it in gear and then apply the brakes while you release the clutch....the engine should stay running if the vehicle is tuned up good. ?
  12. Take your time and enjoy every little moment ?
  13. I've moved the car to the garage ?
  14. 5-31: Been driving the kids around town at night; it's fun to cruise in second gear. Tonight I drove my daughter to a party. When we got there, a boy approached the Meadowbrook and yelled "nice car!" And then continued: "hey Ashley, I didn't know your dad was this cool!". LOL Pic is at home by the garage. Car ran good despite needing a tune-up. I'll get to it one of these days.
  15. It's gravel, seems to be really dry.
  16. I hope to go. Not sure if I'll be able to make it. ?
  17. Flat fender PWs were in production for the United States until 1968. Dodge continued production for export until the mid 70s. Very cool to see one. Thanks for sharing. ?
  18. Thanks for sharing the video. I like the dual glove boxes, split rear window, that funky steering wheel knob, and the trunk emblem. Well, I like everything else about it too! Congrats on getting it home?
  19. May 24, 2019: Friday night! Took the kids out for an hour and a half cruise around town. Stayed in 2nd gear mostly, utilizing Fluid Drive. ? Lots of folks were out in their garages and back yards just enjoying the quiet cool evening. No bugs, no wind, and a perfect temperature. The Meadowbrook ran great despite needing a tune-up. We had our share of gawkers! It was fun. The pics are after we got back home and parked in the shed.
  20. Whereabouts in MN are you? I'm in the Southeast corner, 20 minutes south of Rochester. Nice twosome!
