  1. 6-29-19: The kids and I took a cruise on the highway tonight. We stopped at the car wash first, then on to Amish Ovens (truck stop owned by a friend) for gas and snacks. It was super hot and muggy today, but the cowl vent did a nice job.?
  2. Tucked away for the night. It ran good ?
  3. The kids had blizzards and I had a twist cone. ?
  4. Passed by this Mercury that's always parked on the street. I'm hoping the owner drives it. And where did we end up? DQ of course!?
  5. 6-28-19: Cruising around town with the kids tonight. They were at camp all week and missed their little sister, and the Meadowbrook too. ? My son snapped these two photos. Some guy yelled "nice car!" from his yard as we drove by. I honked and waved.
  6. Awesome! Good luck to you with the fixing/maintenance. Looks a lot like mine less the 9ft. box.
  7. Absolutely amazing ? *Stands in awe clapping hands*
  8. Thanks for posting all of this stuff about the tools fellas. I need to check under the seat of my truck just to be sure. Never know what's under there.
  9. My truck is going to be part of that lineup next year?
  10. Thanks for posting Keith, and for keeping that beautiful Chrysler alive ?
  11. This is the mess I've made so far ?
  12. Man that sucks! I'd run that plate anyway and just keep the other plate in the glove box or under the seat or something. That's just me though, I like to break the rules. Especially if the rules are stupid ?
  13. Not sure which forum member owns this route van, but it was friggin' sweet!
  14. Me and the family made it. I didn't drive the Meadowbrook or the B-1-D though. We sure had fun anyway! Best part was meeting ggdad1951, Merle, and youngEd. I got to take a close up look at their trucks and ask a lot of questions. so that really helped a lot in a few things that I need to fix on my truck. It was also nice to put faces to names. Their trucks are spectacular to say the least. Mine will never be that nice, but that's okay as long as it's mechanically sound. Wish I could have stayed longer but I found the guys toward the end of our run and the family was getting pretty tired towards the end.
  15. And the mailbox itself is baseball bat proof ?
  16. Okay, thanks Merle. I'll look into it.?
  17. June 21-22: My son and I were messing around with the '48...till 1am! My son is 9, and he says "Dad, I've never been up this late before". I laughed and asked him to put on the next tune (from my ITunes to Bose speaker. Just happened to be Hotel California). My barn is an awesome workshop. Anyway, I did various things like jack up the front end and take the wheels off. Got stumped a bit there. As you can see in the picture, there's a "hubcap" , not a dust cover so to speak. My manual says to unscrew them. But with what? Diameter across the flats is 2 1/4 inches.
  18. Not yet. I think that's next on my list even before the tune up, meaning I'm hoping to be able to save what is already on the truck. If I need new wheel cylinders and everything else that goes with it, I might have to wait till a little bit. At least I'll get it diagnosed. Is it safe for me to take the wheels off? I'm worried about those split rims. Do I even dare put air in them if they are low? What dangers am I looking at in handling them? Is it only if someone tries to remove the tire from the rim itself? Also, are the driver's side lug nuts opposite threads?
  19. I need to start working on either shining up that oxidized paint, or trying to get down to the original paint. Yeah I know, that would be a hell of a project. I also have some ideas for distressed lettering for the doors that I know is going to be really awesome. I'll do it myself. ?
