  1. Saturday October 19: Out for an evening cruise with the kids. They were really excited to go (as was I); fall smells were in the air and colors have been so brilliant lately. We didn't go far (just around town), but to have my kids with enjoying the moment is priceless. Warming up at home. It got chilly so we cranked the heat ?
  2. Those are some fantastic photos! I like how he puts it all together. Thanks for sharing ?
  3. If that isn't postcard material....
  4. Later wifey asked me to drop off some books at the library. What better car to run an errand with. At the library parking lot in this pic.
  5. Car ran good as usual. I might take it out later for a night ride ?
  6. Friday October 18: Drove my son and I downtown for a haircut. My barber likes the Meadowbrook. I'd say our maple is at peak color today ?
  7. Looking good! Hope you had fun cruising. Someday I'm going to ride shotgun with you ?
  8. Oct. 12: Back at home. Will likely take the car out for a fall colors cruise later on.
  9. Oct.12: At the recycling place. Hauling stuff in the backseat reminded me of some guy I ran into that told me back in the 50s his dad had a Meadowbrook or a Coronet when they lived on a farm. Since they didn't have a truck they removed the back seat and hauled their milk cans into town with the car! Yes that's a big hunk of rust hanging down. ?
  10. Oct. 12: On my way out with the recyclables. I found out my emergency brake needs a little adjustment.
  11. Saturday, October 12, 2019: Chilly 28F this morning? Meadowbrook fired right up. I cranked the heat. Had to use the car for a little work this morning. Hauled recyclables. The back doors actually open far enough to stuff in the huge plastic tub we use. Fall colors are about at peak around here. Warming up by the awesome maple.
  12. 10-7-19: Sitting in my garage gazing down at the highway while enjoying a pair of Hostess Cupcakes. ? The 48 is sitting comfortably behind me. The sound of the traffic mixed with moments of silence is calming.
  13. 10-6-19: Moved the truck over into that neutral space. Didn't use wheel dollies. I was surprised how easily the wheels turned even when I was sitting still. I crave driving it....it's killing me (softly; Roberta Flack ?). Guess I better get to work on it.
  14. Oct. 6, 2019: Took the kids out for a short cruise around town at dusk. Someone had a really nice Hudson Hornet out cruising. I couldn't snap a picture of it. Here's my car warming up. ?
  15. Impressive! Thanks for sharing. Good luck with the rest of the build. Don't be afraid to post more pics ?
  16. 10-4-19: Tomorrow I will move the truck one space closer to the Meadowbrook. I might slide it over on wheel dollies as there is no garage door there. 4 car garage, 3 doors ?. I'll need to park my work car where the truck is now. Getting close to window scraping weather here. BTW fellas, there was nothing under the seat!
  17. 10-4-19: Finally got the truck running again and moved into my garage from the barn. Took me forever as usual. My son kept me company. The points were out of adjustment. The carb linkage is sticking too, causing the engine to rev. I kept it down by pulling the choke out. I'll figure it out. Main thing is that I got the truck moved. I feel good about that. Now I can get it up on blocks and work on the brakes among other things. I have a special plan for some patina'd lettering. It's gonna be really cool. ? Pic 1: still stuck in the barn. ? Pics 2 & 3: in the garage!
  18. I'll see if I can get some pictures for you tomorrow.
  19. Oct. 4, 2019: Warmed up the Meadowbrook to take my daughter to the homecoming game. Cranked up the heat! I would've taken a longer drive but I worked on my truck and got that running, which I really had been wanting to do. After the game my son and I picked her up. My son keeps telling me he can't wait to drive. I remember that feeling!
  20. Funny, you really have to look hard to notice the boring cars on either end of yours ?
  21. 9-30-19: Drove my daughter to a neighboring town for a hair appointment. It was a good cruise for us. Warm today, above 80. 50s the rest of the week; that's more my kind of weather. When we arrived back in our town we hit Dairy Queen. After sitting in the car for a bit and enjoying our ice cream, the owner came out and asked me what year the car was, and said he really liked it. He also made the comment that I must be happy that I could get the car out and drive it today, probably meaning that I could only drive it if it's above 75 degrees and sunny LOL. I told him I drive it all the time. I bet he'd never guess that I drove it when it was 33 below zero!
  22. The penetrol has definitely lost a lot of it's sheen. It's still somewhat holding up though. I have not reapplied it. But for the $8 that it cost me to put it on the first time, it's definitely worth it. ?
  23. I didn't think it would fit, but never tried. I hung it on the garage wall?
