  1. Hi DJ, I was involved in a car accident a couple of months ago. The incident occurred near Sacramento. I had to rent a car from Enterprise to drive to San Diego in order to rent a truck in order to tow my wrecked vehicle back home. You might ask, why wouldn't you rent a truck from Sacramento or even Los Angeles? Why would you drive for hours to go to San Diego to rent a truck? The Enterprise Rental place told me that they can't keep trucks in stock. The assumption is that so many people are moving out of California, that they can't keep enough trucks in stock in order to keep up with the demand. It may be just a circumstance of college kids going home, but it was not convenient.
  2. You are 100% on the money. How does one cough up enough money to pay close to a Million on a home? I just can't comprehend how it can be done. Even if one made $250,000 annually here, it still would be hard to make ends meet with a family here in California. It's absolutely ridiculous.... Sigh
  3. Great story! Not to mention a cool eatery... It's tough to find kind people nowadays.
  4. Hello all, Do members have to "pay" for a want add now? Then pay again every 30 days? Am I reading this correctly? I have never had any luck selling one thing here in the past, when it was free to list a part. I am wondering if it is worth the $5.00 to ask for something to finish my project....
  5. I took a Voltage limiter out of a 1969 Valiant, and soldered ends on it to hook up wires to it once. It was for a 1939 Dodge Coronet gas(fuel gauge). It worked fine. Anything is possible with motivation and a multimeter. ?
  6. I wouldn't put it past them.... Every time we go to my house in Kansas, we feel like Americans again. We DON'T need to get a key to buy paint. You can buy your tobacco, goods, and fire arms at one store without a waiting period(on the fire arms). God bless Kansas! The gas is better there too, at a much better price....
  7. Find a 6 Volt Voltage Limiter for your gas(fuel) guage. The rest are mechanical... Other than the Ammeter as Andydodge correctly mentioned.
  8. Doesn't Vans Automotive supply these? Perhaps I am wrong...
  9. I did this repair once, with success. Lately, since I send out the gauges to be repainted, I let them do it.
  10. Great post... I will have to look more into this matter latter. But it's definitely a start...
  11. No worries, I wonder why they don't offer it here? They used to about 8 years ago. I wonder if it is because of the extra effort required to install it...
  12. Does Speedway offer any kits? I heard a rumour, but haven't had time to look it up...
  13. That is great news Larry! Both that your wife is back home, and now your car is running right.
  14. The stuff I got is just as thick as the regular fuel hose. It has the reinforced center too. Good stuff, but like I mentioned earlier, tough to install!
  15. You are right, it's not cheap. But I feel I don't ever have to pull the tanks out of my motorhome again, it's worth every penny.
  16. Your comment made my day! Love it! I really wish that the guy could find inner peace and leave me alone. I wish no one any ill will, and prefer to help people instead of causing them troubles. To be honest, the man is probably just jealous. He has seen me helping my buddies build Engines, Transmissions, Differentials, and weld cars together. I get 'Cudas, Superbees, AAR 'Cudas, T/A Challengers, Cummins Trucks, Old Trucks, Older Mopars, and ETC coming out here. My other neighbors adore me, they know of my past and previous Restoration business that I retired from. Other than my personal collection that may someday be in build threads here, I am also currently helping with a 1971 426 Hemi 4 Speed Convertible 'Cuda project. To me, this is what having fun is all about. Not bashing someone around, I have become too old , and much wiser. Nothing could be gained truly, and he needs someone to fight back to get his jollies. Why should it be me? They say that you can't fix stupid! LOL Sorry Keithb7, I didn't mean to intervene, time to see more Windsor Adventures!
  17. @bluefoxamazone,. Please let me know if you get this issue resolved.
  18. I took pictures by phone, but the files from my phone are to big to upload. And this subject is not worth the trouble of downloading to my PC, then resizing the files to get them small enough, then logging in on my work computer to post it. Perhaps you feel that I am some incompetent guy with no clue. But here, where I live, no local auto parts store carries "Gates Greenshield Multifuel & Bio-fuel compatible Fuel hose". I found it online, after looking for fuel hose that is "Ethanol" resistant. After finding the part number, I could order it from O'Reilly's Auto parts. But, it was cheaper to buy it on Amazon and ship it in. I had to do this, because of the fuel line that you suggest, that is sold at the local parts house, failed after two years. This happened on my motorhome, and it took me a couple of days to drop both tanks and replace the fuel hoses. The Gates hose that I am mentioning, has a inside special liner, I had to stretch the hose over a larger cirular wedge to expand the inner liner to fit over the barbed fittings. If you have ever used this hose, you too will realize that it is a PITA to install. If the hose that you are using slips on easily, you better keep an eye on it. If you have better gasoline than we have at your pumps, then you have nothing to fear, and most likely won't suffer the same fate as I...
  19. I have some locations out here in SoCal, but that may not suit you. If you cannot find a speedometer shop near by, please let me know. I can send you a couple of great places that will make your speedometer good as new again. Or at the least, repaired...
  20. Cold Blue, your car looks fantastic! Thank you for the photos. ?
  21. Awesome! I look forward to see how they look.
  22. I do understand where you are coming from and respect your answer. Thank you.
  23. Love it!!! Thanks for posting the video.
  24. You are most welcome, family first... Our cars always wait patiently for our return.
  25. They don't supply it here. Believe me I wasted a lot of time and gas to find out the hard way...
