I have a mustang 2 in my 40 pt105
they sell univeral front kits. You just have to trim to fit your frame then weld it up. The front crossmember has to come out. You have to fab radiator support and engine mounts. I like the heidts style which surrounds the frame better than fatmans

I met Wray in Illinois through metalmeet.com , all those guys are very good and helpful to new guys. Yeah I got 4 fenders to make,2 kids to send to college and 9 vehicles to maintain + work.

Looking good! I need to make fenders for my Plymouth pt105. I have the tools but not the time. Too many cars the wife says. I have met Wray and you are right. Master craftsman and all around great guy.

I used lizardskin when it first came out. Stuff was amazing on sound and heat blocking. Then they separated sound deadner and heat insulation, the price is 4 times now. I found some Industrial stuff that is the same for a affordable price. It is used to insulate steam pipes, chilled water tanks and building roofs.

I have ran a pair of Langdon's carbs on non mopar(gm) with adapters. I liked how they ran and had no problems. Will probably look into them for my 25" later on a homemade intake. If I remember they were on ford escort.
I was wondering about the crank damper also. My industrial just has a hub with 2 pulleys, one wide and small narrow for the governor. Can I use it or need to find a dampener?
Speedway motors sells rim shells, but I think 8" is the narrowest. I plan to get a couple and press my centers in to the backspace I want and weld them up. I already drilled the rivits out of a couple of bent rims.

I've done a Heidts (39 chevy truck) nice quality stuff. Progressive Automotive (33 PD coupe) nice also. Bought off ebay a universal from Gearhead (40 Plymouth truck) not as good. DO NOT buy from Gearhead. Took months to get and credit card company finally got it for me. Really helps ride, steering and braking.
Andyd I think I will tear it down and see whats in there. You never know what has been done in 60 or so years. It's not like I need it tomorrow I don't even have mounts for engine or trans.

Thanks for the heads up I knew the difference but too many days getting up at 3am clouds your thoughts. External I think
Thanks guys
I am changing the front motor mount plate from industrial lower to car/truck floating. The pan must also be removed so I thought I would by a complete gasket kit. Are there any differences? It's 4 1/4 stroke with no numbers on the pad or casting dates.
I measured the only bellhousing I have from a 48 Plymouth. Roughly 8" + 12" Don measured, so about 20" from the block to shifter. My trans with its own bellhousing measured 20" + adapter of .8" so about 21"
I had no engine, bellhousing or pedals is the reason I went the route of the ax-15
Brian
Its right at 21" from block to shifter including the adapter plate and about 24" from block to seat edge in my truck
Im going to use the dakota 40/2040 seats
