  1. Ok, i just thought it would be fun to know the names of previous owners, just for my documentations for the car. Thanx anyway
  2. ok, probably a longshot. My Windsor arrived to Sweden with the original plates (se picture) Are there anyway someone here could tell me something about the car, for example previous owners and stuff like that In sweden you could run the plates towards a register to see previous owners etc, and perhaps it is the same in the states ?
  3. Thanx for a fast reply, ill try that tomorrow, and then i will continue my transmission troubleshoot.... thabx alot
  4. Hi On the carb u have 2 screws you could turn, one for the mixture and one stopscrew. When setting idle you are supposed to screw the mixture screw all the way in and work your way out.... but how should i set the stopscrew, because that have also effect on idle...
  5. as it seems it does not matter wich terminal you use like "red" as long as the other contactpoints and terminals follows the diagram, otherwise it would be marked and it isnt and Chrysler would never make that mistake as it says in the thread. What do you Think?
  6. Greg... hehe, yeah it is as in Sweden..... Thanx, im gonna look at the diagram....
  7. Wolfy... nice ride, it is almost as it is my Little "rubys" twinsister....
  8. Greg... i know, i was one of them..... but there is a lot of disinformation out there that confuses the masses.... hehe. Actually it is almost like an own science with alot of theories about Fluid-drive, Fluid-matic, Gyro-matic, M6 gearbox, fluidcoupling etc.... but actually it is a lot of fun when diggin in to all information and get things to work.... i meen, Think of all the Chevy owners, they have a pretty easy task to complete when the are trying to "fix" their cars.. if something is not working they just "throw in" a 350 and 700 gearbox... and they will find it in therir neighbours garage... Well, here in Sweden it is almost that easy i dont know how it is in the states.... Even if you put the manual in the hands of an "know how" guy they do not belive that things work as it says...... //Peter, who is going home from work soon and replace the wheelcylinders with new ones.....
  9. Hi I need to know wich one is the "red wire terminal" on the Solenoid on my Fluid-drive, there is 2 wire terminals on the solenoid but the Colour of the wiring is the same (dirty, mud, grease, oil etc..) I need to know his because in the manual it says to connect one of the testlight leads to the "red" terminal regards // Peter
  10. Hi all Moparheads..... is it just me who have difficulties explaining to people what kind of tranny Fluid-drive etc.... i mean, it is not Automatic and it is not Manual, it is Semi and are very hard to compare with any other transmission. There are a lot of "know-how" people that just do not understand when i try to explain this things.... for example. ("know-how" guy... Khg) - What kind of tranny is it in your Windsor man? is it a manual or automatic? (me) - Well it is a Semi-automatic (khg) - hmmm.... ok, semi automatic you say... but you have a clutch? (me) - yes, i have a clutch.. (khg) - ok.... well you Little rascal, then you have a manual tranny.... (me) - no, it is semi automatic.... (khg) - ok, yeah right...... *blinking Eyes" and Thinks "this man doesnt know anything about this car" (me) - Well, let me explain..... you have high and low, within high you have 1-2 gear automatic and in low you have 3-4 gear. you have to use the clutch when you take off, either in high or low, and if you need to change from high to low or vice versa you also need to use the clutch, but not "in between".. (khg) - ok, is there only two gears on you car ? (me) - no "know how" guy tries to flee from the discussion and finishes with... - Ok,well i Think you need to find yourself a Chevy 350 and a 700 and replace that thing you have under your hood..... (me) - No...... Alright, this were just something that came up to me.... that a lot of people have hard to understand theese old mopars with fluid-drive etc. So it is really a good thing that you could find a lot of info on this forum about it.
  11. Greg.... great, do you have any idea why the light does not go on? i have tested it so it is not the light that is faulty And how about the Solenoid is the "red" supposed to be the "upper" one? Now i gotta go to bed.... in Sweden it is past midnight.... // Peter
  12. So, here is the story so far My Windsor does not shift up as it should. i have read through several manuals about this and found out that i should test the wiring/connections with a testlight. In the maual it says that you should connect one wire to the Governor and the other to the solenoid, turn on the ignition and then the light should go on and when you speed up the engine it should go out. In my case the light doesnt even go on from the beginning. what is wrong ? I suppose that it is the wiring, there are some old ragged cables. The manual also says that i should connect it to the "red" wire terminal on the solenoid, witch one is that ? is it the upper one or the lower? i cant se any other colour on the cables then grease, dirt and oil... hehe Could it be that my idle is not set right? i read that it is supposed to be set at 475 rpm, how important is it that it is exactly 475 regards // Peter from Sweden
  13. Greg G.... thanx alot, think ill clean them up this weekend
  14. Plymouth Adams... i am going to look at the rpm this weekend, what rpm should it be?
