  10. Thanks Greg when i last went to register the car guy at the Garage said there was no number on the chassis . I told him that the body number is the chassis number still wouldnt believe me .guess the next time it goes in it will have a chassis number stamped on it . As the saying goes cant teach and old dog a new trick must mean cant tell a young mechanic how they did things back in acient times.
  11. Thanks Greg yeah its a d25 going by the doors its an Australian built model front end and dash are same as mine:D
  12. Hi i know there have been threads about the location of the numbers and where they are but all 4 of my chassis have no signs of numbers anywhere apart from the left and right sides with a p15 beside them . I was wondering if all the chassis that came out didnt have a number on them sounds strange to me but to have 4 the same would be a rare coincedence I would like to know if all the australian made were the same.
  13. Found a 47Dodge custom build hearse on Aussie ebay this week got to be quite rare:D .Ufortunetly i dont no how to attach at the moment but if you want to see somthing different look it up. Sad thing is i havent the room or money to save it:(
  14. Hi bob was told it lights up by the seller yet to try myself but i realy bought it for the look in the car . My Desoto didnt have one and being the flashier;) car of the Plymouth based cars over hear the dash just seams to bare. I've aready converted my car to 12 volt so was going to see a guy who converts to 12 volt or was going to make a modern radio work off the face of the old keeping the original look with modern ease . I have a guy at work who likes to play with that type of stuff hopefully i can convince him
  15. Hi i just recently bought a radio ( hard thing to find in Australia) . Im looking for the reproduction face for it . I remember seeing them on ebay but had a look & no one has a listing . Just wondering if any body knows who has them for sale. Cheers Gareth:)
  16. Welcome to the forum Roger . Good to see another Aussie on the site Cheers Gareth.
  17. Hi Mike yes they definitly are different from the us version but i think that most of the Chrysler products of the late 40s early 50s trucks and cars could be interchangable. I had the problem of the mechanisam was seized up had to drop them in penatrating oil to free up was lucky enough to have a couple of spares to make a good set. The taper end was damage but got away with tightening up a bit more . Havent had the car out in the rain yet so still might fail:rolleyes: but the last time tried to get roadworthy they passed ok:D
  18. Unfortunenatly dont have Napa in Australia But the other place i went to had only one on shelf . So had to order Size is 1.3/8 x 2.11/16 x 1/2 inch tried a thiner width did not work . All well looks like a late night this week as i need to use the shed for my daughters birthday next weekend.
  19. Thanks guys i found a Chicago rawhide number went to my local seal supliers being an odd size did not have them on shelf . going to try another place tonight . So hopefully i can get the old girl back together over the weekend ready for a roadworthy then some fun.
  20. The guy with the black beast(49) must like to try and sneak up on people:D . All that flat black and those angles must be into stealth . Not my style but each to there own . love the Dodge and Chev mild customs
  21. sorry forgot to say is for 1948 plymouth sedan:rolleyes:
  22. Just asking does anybody know the sizes for the inner axle seals that are behind the bearings . I havent pulled it out yet and if i get a size will be able to pick up on way home from work . thanks Gareth
  23. trim looks like it could be off an old holden fc or fe . The copper gadget might be an old 60.s or 70.s wall clock.
  24. I just used what we call insertion rubber ( diaphram rubber) 1/8" thick cut some strips off a sheet . Got it from a local suplier was cheeper than buying original and looks simalar to it.
