  1. Has been suggested in other threads that any brake shop the relines shoes can probably do the band as well. Just have to watch that they do not do you a favor as they did with me by providing oversize (thicker) linings that had to be sanded to fit in the drums.
  2. My Project Cars:1950 Dodge Meadowbrook 1965 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 197? Triumph Spit6 ('78 Spitfire body on a '73 GT6 chassis) From the OP's stable choices, I would suspect the inquiry to be for the Dodge.
  3. Key during the band replacement will be proper adjustment. With a properly adjusted parking brake you will not go anywhere with it applied, without extreme noticeable effort.
  4. Info that is posted on the internet, so it must be true search at Mymopar.com for 863425 says see 1118284. 1118284 shows: 1118284 P 42-54; D 41-52; DS, C 41-49 M/CYL ASSY #3241 U863510 NORS 1118284 P 42-54; D 41-52; DS, C 41-49 MASTER CYL W/O P/B (SA 863425, 863510, 866125) 1118284 P 42-54; D 41-52; DS, C 41-49 MASTER CYL W/O P/B (SA 863425, 863510, 866125) 1118284 P 42-54; D 41-52; DS, C 41-49 MASTER CYL W/O P/B (SA 863425, 863510, 866125) 1118284 in my parts book shows same info Plym 42-54, Dodge 41-52, DeSoto 41-49, Chry 41-49

  6. Stalling may be carb adjustment, or vacuum leak. My D24 did that until I replaced the defective(torn diaphragm) vacuum advance, and got the carb adjusted right. A low on fluid coupling can act like a slipping clutch, but if it were low and slipping it does not seem that it would cause you to stall without using the clutch. Fluid drive coupling. Check the fluid level. If OK, put the plug back in, and leave it alone. Correct oil, and oil level in the M6 is also important.
  7. I believe the washer that the keepers wedge into at the bottom of the spring would keep it from going down lower than the top of the tappet.
  8. The days must be getting shorter as this site once again drifts toward acting like the h. a. m. b. Possibly attitude derived from profession.
  9. I would think that you could try: Click "Support", Click "Staff", click on the "administrator_p15d24ph" Click on "Message". Send message. That would put you in contact with GTK, webmaster, owner, head guru, our benefactor. I believe he runs the "store". If he doesn't, I bet he knows who does. If you are talking about some other "store", can't help ya
  10. OP was on site about 3:30 AM EST today, that does not confirm if this thread was read, or even found again

Some no post members have the +10, some do not, but I did not note the joined date, so that may be a possibility. An observation by me that is probably like the OP's post, just moot anyway.

Post 4 may have been referring to post 2. If so, probably dug post 1 up with a search that contained the word "new".

Rex posted as a "guest", so there isn't even a way to see if he ever returned. He may well be "registered" with another ID. Strange stuff. Even stranger are registered members that have no posts, but have +10 "member reputation" (likes) Explain me that

Maybe not. Rex made that post in Oct 2006, and it took over 10 years for a reply to the post
  15. As Andy says 1) Bump. Internal 2) Hole that aligns with bump. 3) No bump. External 4) No hole EDIT: and of course the correct back plate is needed on the water pump to match. Pic 5 external bypass. As an aside, these pics are all less tan 100kb. Don't need to be MB pics to be seen with upgraded service that GTK has chosen.
  16. If it looks like this, you have the external bypass housing. Some stick up straight. Some have a lean. Depends on the year. I believe both should use the same thermostat.
  17. Then someone has replaced the engine, and the s/n tag attached to the door Edit, and I do agree that the trim on the hood does not look like a 40. Just went by the #'s
  18. 1940 D14 Luxury Liner. Looked to be pretty solid.
  19. Well not really, but that is what it was labeled as at the modern u-pull today. Also saw a 1953 1963 Volvo. Approaching from the back at first it appeared to be an older VW Beetle
  20. Mounting bolts for a 1940 Dodge. Would expect them to be the same. As Dale said 12-24 Oval head with 3/4" of threads.

  22. If you have a picture on your computer you can now drag and drop. Good idea to use "paint", or some other program to resize before trying to post it. You only have a set amount of space allocated on the site, and if you exceed that you will not be able to add more pics until you delete some. Also if too big to start it will not load. This one started at 1.2MB. Resized to 109kb, and shows up fine. If you want to keep the original pic you can make a copy to resize for posting. When you do a post just open a window with the picture you want. Click on it, and drag it to the area indicated by the red arrows in this pic, and release. Or, you can click on "choose files" (blue arrow in this pic) to open the file that has the picture that you want to post. Double click, and it should load.
  23. One "hoser" has them for $6 + shipping. I guess that is each Arizonaparts.com has them for $1.05 ea. + ship Small items, contact, request shipping cost.
  24. Post 19, pic 3 shows checking shoe on a flat surface.
