I recently got the build card for my D24C from FCA with a note saying that they were at present too busy to decode it. I figured some of it out having been around it on and off since 1959, but was curious about column 46 which is "ACC GRP 5" . Does anyone know what was included in accessory group 5? The car was pretty loaded accessory wise and also had several dealer added items and I would like to sort that all out.
The car also had a 1 in column 61 which says "S--C. TIRES" because there is a hole punched between the S and the C. Does anyone know what what this column is and what code 1 stands for? The car is and was oronoco green and the wheels are a non-complimenting different color green, presumed to be original, and I have always wondered why.
This brings a somewhat related question to mind. My 48 D24 has the biege steering column and wheel and I have a 47 parts car with a reddish steering column and wheel and reddish interior adornments. Is this red model specific to year, trim level, random selection, keyed to car color, an option, or what? I have never seen anything explaining it.
Were there specials in other body styles? I like the look!
