  3. Just a little note I sent Roger Rubbish I have read with interest the problems some are having with you about not paying or refusing a refund to a customer . As I understand it both parties dealt with you in good faith and for whatever reason you have declined to refund one's money and to pay the other for goods he shipped to you . Both are acquaintances of mine and I really think you have abused both them and the P-15/D24 site. You seem to have taken advantage of the boards good auspices and now take advantage of your poor heath as an excuse. Think I will be all right if I write the following people and suggest that they get on th P-15 website and check out this thread http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?p=86249#post86249 People who might need to know: MAUPIN ADDISON W 5049 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322118024 JONES AUSTIN R 5053 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322118023 TEMAAT WM A & SHARELLE M 5057 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322118022 CRANE DEREK G & PEARL E 5061 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112016 BEWLEY BRANDON D 5101 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112015 WEBSTER JOHN R 5109 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111028 FAULKNER GWEN M 5110 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112014 CIBULA MARK 5117 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111029 DOEBELE GERALD U + NANCY K 5118 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111020 PANARISO ZACHARY P 5126 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112013 PALUSKO FRANK R + IDA R 5127 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111021 BRIOR LUCINDA J 5134 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112012 WHITEMAN CHRISTOFER A 5135 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111022 SHODEEN KENNETH V + LAVONNE 5142 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112011 REDDISH GABRIELE D 5147 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111023 PORRETT ARTHUR L 5150 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111024 VREEMAN GERRIT H 5158 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112010 CORRELL FREDERICK C & BONNIE L 5159 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111025 VEIGEL JEFFREY E 5166 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112009 VAZQUEZ ADOLFO & 5173 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111026 COTE JAMES F + CHRISTINE T 5174 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111027 FREEMAN RHONDA J 5182 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112008 GARCIA MICHELLE A 5185 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322111001 HOWARD THOMAS D 5190 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112007 DHP PROPERTIES LLC 5195 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112006 BUNKER NORMAN M + MARILYN E 5205 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112005 CRITES KEVIN D 5225 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322113017 ANGLE DOUGLAS L & LINDA M 5230 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322113018 KOBER RICHARD E + AUGUSTA 5240 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112004 SMITH JEFFREY T 5245 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322113019 CLAPP DOUGLAS M & SYLVIA D 5260 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112003 SCHLAGHECK JAMES E & CLAUDIA J 5265 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322113020 WARNER PATRICIA L F 5270 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112002 RILEY JAMES D 5275 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322113021 SNODGRASS GERALD M & DEBORAH 5290 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322112001 BULLIS GLORIA E 5295 MIRA LOMA CIR 6322117028 MORRISSEY JOHN J + AGNES M Ok with you if I send them a letter? 6. I had a 41 chevy coupe and the wiper mounts looked exactly like the plymouth convert ones might way to check out chevy dealers or parts on bay Lou
  7. Here is a system I just installed in my 47 4 door. I did not want to go under the dash and try to attach the aux. 6v fuel pump to the key switch- A/C is in way. So I used a 25 amp 6v headlight relay. Attached the relay to a fuse block from O'Riley's ($8.00) and the energizing wire to the neg side of distributor. So when turn on ignition I energize the fuse block direct from battery- seems to work well. The fuse block will handle 6 30 amp circuits. seems to me for less than 20 bucks you can get a 12 set circuit -pretty cheap in my book. ps Tim thinks a regular new relay might work on 6v system- anyone tiried that yet?
  8. question- I pulled a plug on Son's Mustang - it is very white just as if put in yesterday- but have been in 2000 miles- does that indicate to little fuel supply? Lou
  9. yep that is the same set up I have on the 47 4 door green I also have a working-I think- mechanical. I really know it works I do not run electric all the time. Lou
  10. Don u r right not connected- but I had the same symptoms in my 46 and thought it was fuel and it turned out to be the omission of that second steel spring on the movable point- as soon as I put new points in the flutter/skip at high rpm went away. Also A friend told me to use 4 to7 pound fuel pump on a 350 Chevy engine- he said more could overcome the small Chevy float resistance and overfill and overflow carburetor- he works with them every day I do not Lou
  11. all 6 v pumps I have found have a 5 to 8 # flow. Some 12 v have a 4 to 6 or 7# or psi flow. either is ok All my 5 to8 6 v work very well. I would check ignition first- be sure the points have the strong spring steel or a re enforcement spring- many leave this off and it can cause flutter at high=er rpm. Lou
  12. I have installed them both ways before and after- makes no difference I think along the frame between tank and other fuel pump is perhaps the best but i have 3 that are installed on fender wells after fuel pump and they do great for pumping up also
  13. Car quest has 6v fuel pumps - my store got them overnight from warehouse about60 bucks- the ebay ones are about the same when u factor in shipping- actually I get a discount 15 percent so a littl echeaper the # is E 8011 Lou
  14. Also be sure that when you put the distributor back in that it was re istalled correctly It will go in right or exactly backwards- f
  15. Just got a new- yes new- water pump from napa- sealed bearing and all - $75. Also new wide belt about $25. Nice having them around- I can hear the bearing on my 48 4 door with ac on it - will probably go ahead and put new pump on. Anyone ever tried to fit a new sealed bearing on a worn pump as a rebuild? Lou ps somehow this I posted on another thread by mistake sorry Lou

  17. I am going to be painting the headlight rims on 54 plym wagon the same color as car and topping the rim with SS visor. Also in future will be painting bumper some semblance of chrome paint. So what preparation work - acid etching? self etching primer etc - what will do a good job of holding itself and other paint to the chrome or pot metal?? thanks Lou
  18. I had 16 inch rims on my 47 4 door . Hard and expensive to find 205/75/16- coker about 140 each delivered. Got a set of 15 inch rims and put 205 /75/15 on the 47 - work great 60 each at wally world- just ran them on 100 mile trip on interstate- 70 mph- did fine -20 mpg with overdrive- very pleased. One rim had a bad rusted hole for the stem. Go to tractor supply or any tire store that has tractor tires and get a stem that allows water to be added to the tire as an option- it has a great sealing system fro the worn hole. I put that on- that stem also take air- and worked great. the 205 75 15 appear to be the exact same size as the 600 or 650 16's. Also the speedometer is very accurate - 60 is 60 Lou
  19. Thanks for the input- have a regular fuel pump with a electric booster. Had electric turned off- Went back to basics- plastic hammer and stick of wood banged on bowl area of carb with hammer and then took length of wood and put it on bowl nd hit it a few hard licks- same as I have done carters- It worked- no more overflows thru weep hole or anywhere else thanks Lou
  20. I am assuming his radiator is in a pre 50 car-his profile show a 38 or39? Anyway someone changed his radiator neck to supposedly a pressure cap type neck. But his radiator was NOT designed to have any pressure originally. His the later 218 and 230 engines were not- to my knowledge re designed to run on a pressurized system. The water pumps and bypass was designed to save money and steel and probably iron- Korean war remember? The blocks are all interchangeable as are rods cranks pistons etc or example I have 230 crank and rods in 218 block. Cars started going to pressurized systems so there would be higher boiling points especially in the mountains- here boiling can occur at 180. The higher boiling point allowed for higher thermostats and therefor warmer interiors. If I am wrong pleas explain what changes were made in engine itself that necessitated a 4 pound pressure system - other than installing a 180 thermostat?? The fact that someone modified the neck does not mean it won't run non pressureized it just allows overflow to go out that pipe rather than one in the center as orginal Lou
  21. I know I built a lot of gas savers into this 48 ford but overflowing carb- must be something else. Have 2 ford carb on dual intake when I fired it up after a rough start it smoothed out fine except that the back carb is pushing gas out the -what I guess is a escape hole up high on the carb-anyone got any ideas before I start to work on it- possibly stuck float not closing the needle valve or valve stuck open - I I have used rubber mallet on carter carb or wood block to tap it and jar something loose- Ideas??
  22. Most, and I believe ALL cars, are designed to run below 212 or boiling point at sea level. All a pressurized system does is increase the boiling point- that is increase the margin between the thermostat setting(160 to 190-maybe even 195 ) and the boiling point so it is safer to run higher temp thermostats. Many a time I have had a leak develop in a vehicles water system and loosened the cap (so it had no pressure) and driven many miles- like 400 by just adding water. Just last week loosened cap on 83 Chev Pu because hose began leaking- ran fine no overheating. If I were u I would drain the radiator put in a cup of powdered dishwasher detergent- electra sol etc- fill with water stuff a rag in the filer neck and drive it 15 miles or so. If it overheats u have problems other than cap- if not then drain and refill- you now have a fairly clean radiator and very little cost. I suspect your 17 pound cap is not pressurizing your system because I think that much pressure would have blown a leak somewhere in your radiator. Your engine and cooling system is designed to run with a 160 to 180 thermostat and NO pressure. Someone modified your tank by installing a new neck- I had 48 Dodge that way. Put a 5 pound cap on it and have a good trip!!
  23. you need to teach them how to use a litter box. Nothing worse than a non garage broken Plymouth peeing on your nice concrete.
  24. On my 34 with the 200 original rebuilt engine-basically a smaller version of the 218- It starts great hot or cold, and runs fine at all speeds. But about 5 minutes into a run hot or cold it will backfire one time - I believe thru the carb. Almost like it coughs and then runs fine again. Might do it several time a few minuets apart or just once in a 30 minute run. Any ideas- I am not going to use Vick's formula 44 or nyquil- that stuff contains booze- bad fro car and Me! I have not had this happen before so anyone else encountered this? Lou
  25. Could not find stainless steel mud guards for my station wagon. Got a pair off a 4 door then found a couple of spears on e bay for I think they said 53 plym- about 6 inches long never could figure out where they went on 54 or 53. Anyway I ground off the edges off both the mud guard on it's little spear and on the short tips. then ground off part of the short tip edge and slid it in the mud guard tip. took bolt and used it a anvil and folded over the flange on the mud flap over the ground off tip. Not perfect but it will work --I hope! Now to figure out how to attach the thing- need some way to attach bolts to the mud guard- it bolts to the body Lou
