  1. @MarcDeSoto cutting the steering shaft so it is easier to take the body off and installing a joint when the body is back on to have steering.
  2. I love you Robert for your spirit and commitment to completely stock Mopars you are kind and gentle to everyone on here including me......I wish you would have been one of my teachers. As to the smoking I have decided to go for quality of life over quantity, my heart condition is genetic and it killed my gramps at 60, my father at 64, and his younger brother at 62......I am now 59 years of age and set in my ways. I smoke, I drink, and there is plenty of dead cow on my plate....lol....I would rather drop face first in my meal in the next five years than wearing a diaper and eating mush in the Veterans home. All jocularity aside a pack lasts me about two weeks instead of one day and beer consumption is one a day, two on Saturday. I’m dead serious about red meat though.
  3. The width of your car is five to six feet, that leaves you two feet on each side to play with. Plus your sawbuck leg spread is about eighteen inches......so that only leaves you a small amount of space to roll the chassis out without knocking the body to the floor, I would not recommend eight. On mine I took the sawzall to the steering shaft in the engine compartment.and installed a borgenson joint (small u joint) when I put the body back on.
  4. Thank you for my supper gents.....this will give me something to chew on.?
  5. A 30 amp relay helps horns and headlights to be more efficient, so would it work on my D-24 wipers also?
  6. Two door sedan....One of my faves, I’ve owned two and both had a hood spring quirk, the spring mechanism on the drivers side did not want to compress and bent the hood if you tried to force it.....so clean and lube your hood hinge mechanism or you will crease the hood, and that is permanent. Happy wife happy motoring!
  7. As they told us in bootcamp sometimes a pile of bricks is just a pile of bricks........don’t over think it. Construct the same type wood dolly as in the picture, run some long bolts to connect with, then use a chain hoist to lift the front enough to place two ten foot 4x4s across sawbucks under the front. Lower until you make contact, repeat process in rear and lower until you make contact, do not unhook the hoist. Pull the chassis out from under and replace saw horses with your dolly and bolt it on. I have removed at least twelve bodies from frames using this method. Easy peasy.
  8. Thank you but the trail isn’t that smooth, a lot of damaged tissue so the ablation held for about ten minutes the afib took over so they gave me my fourth cardio.........but it was my first ablation so the cardio held this time, they think down the line it may go back to afib....I’ll take what I can get. Shoveled snow this morning and didn’t need oxy so that was good, grab life with both hands and enjoy it boys thats what it is there for.
  9. Cardiac ablation on last weeks Thursday, Cardioversion on friday released saturday morning.......I don’t feel like a spring chicken but doggone it beats the heck out of Afib. I can breathe better and most of my blondness, I mean dizziness has gone away. More alert and less sleepy during the day, i used to have a button on my hind end that when sitting put me to sleep......lol. Hooray for sinus rythmn!
  10. @wagoneer Those big engines would be in the engine compartment and in between the seats, and the transmission will be in the rear seat and a 2 inch drive shaft. They are longer than a straight 8 and heavy! @Dodgeb4ya has a good picture that will show you the difference.
  11. If my wife caught me looking at that ad she would slap me.........that is a classy chassis!
  12. Hahahaha! This forum is the King of off topic.......LOL! My 2 cents, there are better carbs and worse carbs but if you are a purist (I am not.) getting the carbs that came on your engine from the factory should be your focus. They are some leaky 70 year old messes that you have to tweak, cajole and cuss at but they will work fine once you figure out their problems. If you are looking for more power dual manifold with two one bbbls are my choice.......you can’t have in without out, dual headers complete the package.
  13. Then you would be encouraging dissimilar or galvanic corrosion where the steel contacts the aluminum under the paint, it won ‘t rust the steel but it will dissolve the grit in spots.
  14. I used black diamond sand blasting media mixed in with rustoleum on a set of trailer ramps and it worked fine. Painted the ramps broadcast the sand like chicken feed, let the first coat gas out then added another thin coat of paint.
