  1. You may also want to read the AoK boys blog on the topic of overdrives. I think Mr Asche may be in the hospital at the moment so isn't available to speak to however once he is out and better he would be the person best equipped to answer your questions of the overdrive and its operation.
  2. Right on Right on. I remember all to well being told not to worry about using 12 volts just make sure everything is turned off. Wrong again honey as I smoked very expensive to replace gauge and other items including cooking a coil. Just forget 12 volts for what your doing. Getting oil pressure before connecting the coil wire is just pure gold on the advice meter!
  3. Tim - as I said in the chat room, if you haven't sold out I want an AoK dual intake, headers, linkage and carbs. I will send cores there is no problem there. I noticed the carbs are now $195 and I realize the price I paid George and yourself 20 years ago at Chrysler Carlisle was overdue. On behalf of many, thank you AoK boys for continuing to design and make performance parts for Desoto's, Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge's !
  4. I agree, OMG this is great stuff. Finally someone explained in lay terms how the flatheads really work. I must confess I was one of those thinking that my stock engine couldn't handle dual carbs. Now I see why some many of the guys with stock engines pull this off. Thank you so much for that carb cheat sheet. I have a pile of carter ball and ball carbs around that I haven't a clue what they are from or sizing. This really helps me to separate the wheat from the chaff ! Thanks
  5. Yes the Offy will fit you 201 ci motor. You will find you loose torque but get an increase in RPM. With the Edgy one he raised the carbs up higher which will give you back some of the torque, although I couldn't figure out why he used that pancake style manifold and "ford style" bolt pattern. A vintage Edmunds is a far superior intake to either of those. There were a few different versions of the Eddy Edmunds intake. The one I certainly like the looks of is the one the AoK boys are making I obviously have only seen pictures, but it looks like nice round ports, nice 90 degree sweep. Certainly depending on availability I would go Edmunds or this AoK one, but the Offy or Fenton which is basically the same intake would be last on my list. Back to your original question, it will definitely fit!
  6. Tim - Thank you for all your time and effort. I have loved your series on your 1st car. I have loved all of your entries and really look forward to seeing whatever new items you post.
  7. Give George Asche a call. He has a whole bunch of different cam patterns from mild to wild. I got a 435 lift cam from him a few years back which is definitely a bit lumpy. Not sure what the duration is.
  8. Wow, that sure is pretty ! what an amazing piece of engineering. I now see how your inboard and outboard tabs work. That in itself makes it superior to any of the others I have seen. To also have the truck and 1930s car tab incorporated is clearly a display of pure genius engineering ! Well done ! Please add me to the list. I just have to have one and will drop you a pm on the linkage. Im glad you and George decided to skip the water jacket on the initial build. For me by the time the water is warm enough the engine has warmed up and doesn't need it. I think that is why Chrysler used the exhaust heat and not the engine water. I know Edmunds went the water route. He didn't do an integrated exhaust and therefore used water heat. Ive used an Edmunds year round. With and without the water jacket used. Right down to -25 degrees and in the end, ill pass on the water jacket. It wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me if you had integrated a water jacket although I am glad its not there. The look is just so much better without it. Thanks again for all the work you guys are doing for the hobby!

  10. Well maybe I could find a 1951 Dodge Bussy Coupe somewhere and drive down and see those AoK guys ! Hint Hint.
  11. Thank you Tim and Happy New Years to all the AOK boys. I have to tell you the tip about your new intake and finding this blog were the hightlight of my 2014. Where have you guys been all my life? I just love your posts. If your taking suggestions, How about a series on George building an engine ? How about a sneak peak behind the place that is doing the molding, fabricating and casting of the intakes.? or is that too much of an AOK secret? No fear of megoing to steal your idea. I just find it amazing to see the molds in progress. Maybe its also a favor and the guy doesnt want to be hounded with peoples projects. Its definately obvious you know where to find talent or you guys attract it to you, not sure which. How about a series on the dragster? Im sure that must already be in the works. How about a series of the Asche Boys and your son? What do they drive, what are their projects? You mentioned a starter business by George's boys and when I was just talking to him he told me the story about that business. That sounds like something a lot of people on this forum could use. I hear starter and genrator talk all the time and now its obvious Asches have all that coveredand Im sure better than the chinese crap they sell at part stores. Im tired of crap that doesnt last 5 minutes. So any stories on stuff happening in the homeof the brave would be nice. Heck even from your country woud be good. Never had the opportunity to go see Canada and likely wont now but any place that made the chrysler flathead 6 and put dual carbsand exhaust on it from the factory is my kind of place and definately has my respect. Ok mywife says stop talking. thanks for being there Tim, I really have enjoyed this last few weeks and I cant remember a month where my wife keeps saying what as I say wow.
  12. Thanks Tim,I had a nice chat with George Asche and I was surprised how little it would cost to do an engine. He definately has me out looking for an OD. But I am on his list for a new engine build. Check is in the mail today!
  13. $27,500 oh boy thats a big difference in money between that one and the one Tim Kingsbury has tipped us off on. I see what looks like modern leather seats and console in it so maybe it is also sporting a v8 under its hood. That seems to give a lot of people the idea they are worth more money although for me its the opposite. Now that being said even at $27,500 for the bizzy coupes they are getting into that range it seems. Maybe I am just getting to old!
  14. \ Me Too.. sort of makes an old Desoto and Plymouth guy think about those dang Dodge Bros !
  15. Tim - thank you for a chance to glimse into your world. It was a tremendous read and with out question this blog is a must read. I love your paying homage to your parts suppliers. I hope your tell them your mentioning their names ? I know from your posts I have found 3 parts suppliers. Again, thank you for your time to do this blog. When I get home from work I immediately head to p15-d24 site to see what you may have posted. Please keep up . A huge fan !
