  1. What about condensation? Especially if the oil has been in an engine for a long time and if the engine is run, it's not run long enough to warm up.
  2. Since you will be adding a 440/727 combo, I suggest checking out the Dan'so hemi swap project for your mc.
  3. Just make sure that you measure toe in as you raise and lower the truck by jacking on the frame before you drive it. One more try for me to convince you. Think about this, your tie rod doesn't mount to the frame, what happens when you replace it with something that does?
  4. I would listen to DJ. The reason a rack and pinion is mounted solidly to the frame /crossmember on an ifs is it sends one tie rod to each suspension system. Since there is only one suspension up front with a solid axle, you should use only one tie rod if you are going to mount it to the frame, or mount it on the axle so that suspension movement doesn't affect steering angles and/or toe in.
  5. Sorry for regurgitating an old thread, but a correction should be made. DWELL can be calculated based upon no. of engine cyl. and no. of strokes. Point gap cannot. .020" gap is also a common spec in small 1-2 cylinder engines. .020" is a good place to start, then adjust gap until proper dwell is obtained.
  6. First post . Visit your local equipment dealer or farm supply store aND pick up a product called Cab Fresh. Works like mothballs but with a much more pleasant smell to it.
