  1. yep, dashes are different, I like the 51-53 better, but I am looking to possible graft a 49 Plymouth dash into the truck.... I just loooooove those 49-50 plymouth dashboards . Dennis, thanks for the excellent photos. Bud
  2. thanks for the info. very valuable, I am looking at a rust free cab and doors very soon for my 53 and this will make looking them over easier. bud
  3. Reg... How about the cabs and doors, are they all interchangeable too?
  4. Attaching Some Pics, Apparently Reg Says They Look To Be A $100.00 Set, Any Interest On The Forum Before E Bay Gets Them?
  5. the 49 steering wheel I had did not have the removable base where it tapers down to the shaft, but the 50 did. enjoy the rest of the week, wife and I are going camping. Bud
  6. funny, I liked the frenched headlights better than the rolled pan. it takes all kinds, don't it?
  7. engine, column shift trans, front bumper and probably the spare carrier are sold. floor shift 3 speed, hubcaps, rear end, front axle and all springs still available
  8. sounds interesting, but don't forget the ladder. Bud
  9. forgot to add that I restored the steering wheel myself, it had pieces missing over an inch long. quite a task. Bud
  10. some must have made it to washington too, I always need to proofread mine before sending. Bud
  11. merle, no red rims and wide whites for me, the truck will be painted "plum crazy purple" just like my 49 plymouth with creme rims and blackwall tires with a set of beauty rings and baby moons. I am glad to be abouard also, I love the diversity and the friendly replys ( even if they don't agree with the direction I am going on the truck) Bud
  12. yes, they share the same spline, but only after I drilled out the plymouth spline hole with an inch bit, turned down a chev steering wheel base to the same, pressed it in and welded both ends. lot of work, but worth the effort. Bud
  13. I just drilled the hole where the chevrolet horn wire would go thru, routed the wire thru the spring and connected it to the contact ring, worked perfectly. If you look at the picture of the steering wheel, you can see I had to manufacture a filler piece as there was about a half inch space between the column and the steering wheel. Would you believe I found that the bottom of a quart paint can is just the right diameter and all I had to do was drill out the center hole, horn wire hole and the 3 stock steering wheel reducer holes found on the 50 steering wheel. it fit like a glove. I sanded it with a piece of scotchbrite and clearcoated it, looks like it was supposed to be there. Bud
  14. Beautiful Dash, Well Thought Out. Too Modern For Me, But I Appreciate The Innovation And Beauty Of It. I Just Posted A Few Pics Of The Dash And Steering Wheel On My 49 Plymouth.
  15. I Saw The Awesome Dash Set Up In The P15 And Thought I Would Show What I Did To My 49 Plymouth. I Adapted A 50 Plymouth Steering Wheel To A 72 Nova Tilt Column And Kept The Stock Radio Face With The Delete Option, Hinged It And Put The Cd Player Behind It. It Stays Up With A Cabinet Spring Latch. Looks Stock And Keeps The Flavor Of That Beautiful Dash.
  16. took a side picture of my truck today, printed it out and got busy with an exacto knife, came up with an interesting rendition, what do you guys think???? uploading before and after pics. Bud
  17. looks like your a day late and a dollar short. I just sold mine to a member yesterday. Be patient and I'm sure another will come up. Bud
  18. I just consider it another part of my "blended" family.
  19. the best part is I also "whored out" my 49 Plymouth before I got this one. your ignorance is showing "old woolie". My suggestion is to get a life. Not everyone is into restorations and I would suggest an attitude change. Are you this narrow minded about everything? I have no problem with what you want to do with your vehicles, why should you have a problem with what I do with mine?
  20. the 46 had a 218 cu inch engine also, I can't see any problems in this swap. Bud
  21. I would have the radiator flow checked and put in a new thermostat. Bud
  22. Wayne, it is complete down to the air cleaner, it is still in the truck and runs like a top. the odo shows under 90k miles. I am located in a town called Stanwood which is kinda between Bellingham and Seattle, 7 miles off the interstate. send me a PM on what you are willing to spend if you like the motor. It will be coming out of the Truck within a month and will be much more difficult to hear it run then. it also has a frantz oil filter on it, a new coil and fuel pump.
