  1. I have seen several threads on this using the search feature but what is the easiest way to cruise at 65 at lower rpms? overdrive unit? if so where do you purchase and how much? t-5 conversion? if so what is the most updated list of parts and instructions? lots of info out there on this some old and some conflicting. thank you guys
  2. My car came with a set of skirts when I bought it. The question is, how do they mount? Any pics would help too. Thanks.
  3. I look at a classic vehicle as an extension of ones personailty and when driven are the best forms of artistic expression. in short run what you brung and do what you like as long as you are footin the bill. to me these 4o's coupes lowered a bit co pliment the factory lines.
  4. Ok so here is an update on my 48 biz coupe "Ruby" I wanted to go with a mild taildragger look so.. I purchased a split exhaust header from Langdons stovebolt added a full true dual exhaust system with 12' glasspacks and chrome fishtail tips went with 3" rear lowering blocks from Jamco suspension removed 2 rer leaf springs put her on some Coker nostalgia radials with some repop starburst hubcaps added dummy spotlights and moved the exterior sun visor down a bit lower. added some chrome headlight visors with red jewel put a 48 georgia license plate on the rear with an aftermarket Safety star tag topper insideI installed new saddle color carpet from stock interiors and added a dash mount traffic light viewer. more things in the works including yellow flood lights in the front splas pan etc. but the stance is great and she rides excellent without issues. BEFORE: AFTER:
  5. Keep your factory trans and change your rearend to a late 60's Dodge truck many different rearend gear choices. This will allow you a better cruising speed at lower rpms and still keep it all Mopar.
  6. I know not everone is running a stock oilbath post what you got
  7. Plymouth.posted pics under the post about liwering my 48 biz coupe
  8. i picked up a 2 5/16 chrome old style air cleaner and it is to big and wont tighten down on the rim securely. post pics of what your running
  9. I took off my worn out 6.70 15s today in favor of some Coker Nostaligia radials 205 75 15's My plan is to go with the moog springs up front and 3" blocks in rear as well as remove 1 leaf. My car is higher in the rear at the moment and the whole car sits up like truck .I have NEVER seen a car sit this high.my front end is freshly rebuilt and I have new shocks on all 4 corners.
  10. Bmartin, what size tires are you running and does the 40 and 48 have the same suspension? you can tell that your before pic was lower in the front before the moog springs but I dig your current taildragger stance especially if it had skirts!!
  11. Mine sits up like a truck, My last car was a 51Merc, I like lowered cars when it compliments the factory body lines and accentuates the profile. These cars sit up high from the factory and had Bias ply tires. They are horrible for body roll and frankly clumsy.Everyone has their own opinion and style but mine is and always will be low and slow.I want the back lower then the front just a bit.I will post pics when it's done.
  12. nice ride! and thanks for postin pics. yours has a cool hotrod stance, Im looking to go lower in rear then the front.
  13. i ordered some 3" 1 3/4" wide blocks. first question do plymouths have round or square u bolts? next anyone have pics of their cars with 3" blocks? anyone removed a leaf spring too? im wanting a slightly lower taildragger stance than the front. for the front Im going to use aerostar springs. post pics guys what the best way to dump the ass on these cars without goin broke
